Blog of the Week continues to churn out excellent publications; some nostalgic, some sad and others funny, but all evoking memories for us #silverbloggers as can be seen in the comments, especially this past #BoW which brought back childhood memories.
This week's contributions
We all agreed that there were once again some fabulous entries, so do pop over and read the contributions (not all mentioned below) but which are in the announcement post comments HERE.
Remember that even though payout dates may have gone, you can still comment and reward deserving posts by sending a tip.
We had a total of 14 entries again this week but this time 12 met the criteria and some new names popped up, which is great!
Judgement
Three of the panel members, which at the moment does not include @tarazkp who's on leave of absence, chose the same winner and although it was difficult to reach consensus on the second and third place, two stood out to land in The Top 3.
"That one childhood memory that lives with you"
This topic brought back fond memories; some made us laugh, some brought a few tears but all made for excellent reading plus we got to know some of our members a little better.
We enjoyed all 14 entries but whittled it down to the following...
Special mentions
@antikus with The theme for the new week - That one childhood memory that lives with you where he shared his fascinating life as a child growing up in the Rostov region in great detail.
Jackie O'Silver aka @farm-mom took us back to the days of the Carnivals with her blog The Carnival is in town, something many of us remember for the fun and joy it brought.
Silver Mamma Chef aka @artywink made us laugh again with her story especially when she went diving into a tar road that resembled a river at dusk on arrival at their holiday destination. When I wanted to be a mermaid, had all of us in fits of laughter.
Long Silver aka @thebigsweed had to turn down a golden opportunity when he was Facing disappointment in my youth, but would his paths have crossed with the love of his life? Things always happen for a reason.
Silver Crow aka @bartolomee who suggested this week's topic also deserves a special mention with her youth spent in Khazakstan and her love for the Caspian Sea, a real interesting blog called That one childhood memory that lives with you
Unofficial entries
The Silver Voice young @soyjudith was first to jump out of the starting gates when she joined us silver threads among the gold again with her That one Childhood Memory that lives with you.
Yours truly Silver Blonde Lizzie aka @lizelle shared Seaside Memoirs – Mermaids and Silvery Delights, which funnily was about the exact same seaside destination @artywink wrote about in her blog; strangely our paths only crossed many years later, but that is a story we both need to tell in our own words some time!
The Silver Selection - the Top 3
As I mentioned, although difficult as we had such awesome entries, it was a unanimous decision and here are the three shining contributions:
#3 is @positivesteem with BOW: That One Childhood Memory That Lives With Me.
I can see why @positivesteem chose his Hive handle after reading about the sacrifices made by his parents and sister to give him the opportunity of a brighter future; although it must have been heart-breaking at the time, it indeed brought him success while at the same time remaining grounded and humble, never forgetting his roots.

#2 is @carolkean with Country Roads, Earth, Wind, and Fire: Defining Elements of "That One Memory" of childhood on a farm
We were taken on an awesome trip on the country roads of @carolkean's life; a wonderful blog with happy and some awfully sad memories as well.
@carolkean's story reminded me of how life takes us to different places with all its twists and turns; sometimes to great destinations but sadly at times to the most awful places.

#1 The Winner of Blog of the Week was:
@galenkp with A story from my youth – the ugly tree
Congratulations @galenkp! Your story of that epic fall from the ugly tree, made us laugh but also ponder the lessons learned which many of us should take note of.
You've summed it up perfectly in your own words:
My never-quit ethos is something that endured. My ability to find courage within, to stand for what is right, to push forward when it's easier to capitulate and to accept failure for what it is, a step closer to success is what I learned as a kid and developed as an adult.
