Have you ever jumped with joy at the sight of 3 large tip-trucks and a Bob-Cat lining up on your verge on a Monday morning, ready for action?
So...I know I've been harping on about the subject, BUT we're still waiting for something to be done as far as road restoration, the school bank reinstatement while the street light pole in front of our property is slowly leaning more and more.
We were really excited when we saw this sight, but all that happened were large heaps of sand being removed, which took about two hours, and then nothing!
Neighbours and friends are also waiting, and our friends' home is now being stripped of just about everything ruthless thieves can lay their hands on, as they cannot afford 24-hour guarding any longer - all water pipes, taps, sinks, and more have been stolen. They're now starting to remove part of the roof, ceiling boards, water pipes in the ceiling, and possibly the geyser as well. This was discovered today by our gardener who recognised the sink someone was casually carrying down the road; he and our neighbour saw that further stripping has been done. It really is getting too much for our friends who now are more determined than ever before to pack their bags as soon as this is over and join one of their daughters in either Ireland or Scotland.
Crime is out of control with a police force led by a clown.
Despite the hardships they're going through, our friends brought a bag full of diabetic treats for hubby's birthday and a small bunch of roses for me. Very touching as they were sharing some of the roses given to them in remembrance of their daughter's death.
Beautiful roses from two beautiful souls.
This is the second bunch of roses I've been given lately as recent guests also gave me roses leftover from a family wedding they attended.
I've really felt ill with motion sickness turning into vertigo, but after a visit to the doc who warned me to watch my BP, something some of us older silvers are very familiar with; and that I need to do some light exercises AND learn to turn a blind eye to stuff beyond my control, very difficult for me!
I will listen and keep my glasses off for now, for health sake only!
As I was feeling so ill, hubby only got cheesy crumpets for his birthday, but we will celebrate properly next week when we go down the coast - I simply cannot wait!
Cheese crumpets in the making, stacked with very simple fillings.
I did not even have mine drizzled with syrup and all things gooey, as I was feeling too nauseous!
A positive has been the really nice guests we currently have staying with us, ex-pats living in Cyprus who are here to see family. The Mom and I have become big pals; I thought I knew how to talk, well this lady beats me by far!
It has been lovely though, especially knowing I'm not the only one with verbal diarrhea :)
AND...I have just been reminded by the amaazing @hivebuzz, that it's my 5th Hive birthday today!
I'll have to tell a tale or two...or more... about my exciting journey here on Hive.
That story will be a day late๐
