If you are at all like me, it can sometimes be hard to find things to occupy yourself when you are retired. The house is cleaned, the closets all re-organized, and de-cluttered plus all my seeding for the gardens is done. What to do now as the weather outside is still too cold and rainy. Well, guess what I have been doing... that's right, puzzles.
Passing time
I happened to be in one of our Goodwill stores that carry used items and found this puzzle for a $1.99. Doing puzzles with my mother as a child was something we always did on a lazy afternoon to pass some time. Working on this puzzle brought up so many childhood memories for me. It was nice to sit and let my mind drift to another time in my life that brought me so much joy. It seems so close yet so far away as if it was another lifetime. Anyway, this was the perfect solution to finding something different to do while waiting for the weather to cooperate so I could get outside and prep my gardens.
Getting closer to the finish and my eyes and brain are getting tired so I finished it the next morning with my coffee.
It was still too cold out to spend too much time cleaning out the leaves from the garden so I went back to the store and bought two more puzzles. Now I know I am on a roll and my husband is shaking his head wondering how I can sit that still for so long.
Puzzle #2
The pieces are all flipped and the border edges are ready to put together.
This puzzle was so hard to do as my overhead light made all the reflective pieces drive the eyes crazy. It made it hard to pick out the different tones of each piece. I worked on this one for a couple afternoons as I would start to get a headache.
I am making progress albeit slow with the puzzle being so iridescent. It is by far the hardest one I have ever done. I don't think I will buy another one like it.
I let my husband put in the final piece, lol.
Of course, you have to know that I did not stop at two puzzles but had to do another. I am totally addicted at this point and am trying hard not to go back to the store to find another one. What do you think I will do? Any thoughts?
Puzzle #3
I could not resist doing another one since I was enjoying doing something different to pass away the rainy afternoons. Do you enjoy doing puzzles too? Be sure to leave me a comment to let me know.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
