Hello Hello Hivians.
Don't you just love health matters and what we are told is good for you and what isn't good for you.
Just wait a few years and then they will change their minds about things.
I just remember what my grandma said decades ago...
Everything in Moderation
I have long believed we need to do things that we enjoy and live in the moment.
When I started working abroad in West Africa when I was 23, I saw life getting taken away in a heartbeart.
Rival warring tribes didn't care who they killed.
It really hit home. Life is fragile and ever since then I have lived in the moment.
Mind you the excesses of my youth would be too fluffing costly to do now!
But last week in the glorious weather I did go shopping and spotted some treats, which I brought home via the Auld Kirk you see in the first picture!!
Mrs T actually saw these wee Teddy shortbreads. Being Edward I used to get called Teddy, infact I have a facebook account where I am Teddy Edward and when I booked the painting sip and paint class it was through that.
So every time the teacher asked how I was getting along she would said Teddy, which tickled Mrs T no end.
Actually they were only 99 pence, so what is that, about $1.30 or great value.
I also picked up a box of 6 Tunnock's tea cakes in dark chocolate! Tea Cakes were from my youth too, but hell no there was not dark chocolate around in those days!
I am a dark chocoholic, I think a throw back to when I went fishing with my father. He would sneak us a bar of Cadburys Bournville dark chocolate, so that is my sweet tooth!
But back to our title .....
Everything in moderation, they say.
But think about this.... what if moderation means a whole box of shortbread teddy bears and a Tunnocks teacake for dessert every night? I mean @asiaymalay loves having two desserts, so what do you think Asia? Is that moderation?
Or maybe it's a lifetime supply of dark chocolate? After all, dark is better for you, right?
I'm not sure I believe in moderation anymore. We are free thinking Silver Bloggers afterall!
Moderation seems like such a restrictive word.
Like, I can only have one cookie, or one glass of wine. But what if I want two cookies? Or two glasses of wine?
Who's to say I can't? Haha not even Mrs T can 🤣
I mean really, who only eats one fluffing cookie? You do? No way, what amazing self control you have!
I think we should all just do what makes us happy. If that means eating a whole box of shortbread teddy bears and a Tunnocks teacake for dessert every night, then so be it.
If it means living on a diet of dark chocolate, then go for it!
Life is too short to worry about moderation.
So go ahead, indulge in your favorite treats. Just don't forget to brush your teeth afterward!"
Right that is my rant over for today, because after all ... everything in moderation!
Thanks so much for popping in and have a great new week!
