Hola Hello you awesome bunch of hivers and hivians
Our weather took a very temporary turn for the better and the sun came out this morning. I did not have any work to do today, and after reading a post from @fionasfavourites wanted to make some burgers.
So I decided to kill two birds with one stone and go for a walk along the beach and stop off at the supermarket to get some messages on the way home.
Being winter it was still darn chilly, so after a brisk walk along the beach I popped into the supermarket, stopping off at the book bin to donate a couple of books to charity. I totally timed it all wrong however, as the supermarket was full of kids buying things on their school lunchtime.
I got my mince for the burgers and a bunch of other things then headed to the checkout.
I have been reading some awesome posts lately about kindness and the post from @jerrytsuseer really resonated with me.
"Helping others is good for your soul" byJerry E Smith 02/07/2022
If you haven't read his post, I urge you to read it here
Back to the supermarket and I was queuing up behind a little old lady with a trolley.
She was in the aisle with me and there was a gap to the check out number 6 to let other customers through.
Next thing we know is that three kids, teenagers whom I shall refer to as NEDs (do you use that term Non Educated Delinquents), barge in and put their stuff on the conveyor belt. The little old lady says to them "Excuse me but I am next." The NEDS reply laughing with "naw we are, get back to your nursing home, ya auld bag".
This as you can imagine, p++&£$ me off, so I go up to them and take their crips and drinks from the conveyor belt saying to them "Here you go boys, I shall put your stuff at the back of the queue where you and they belong", and I walked back to my trolley and put their stuff on the floor behind my trolley.
They actually turned red and muttered obscenities but they walked off, leaving their goods on the floor.
I then helped the little old lady bag up her groceries, and whilst doing so, she says to me "You, young man are awesome, thank you so much, kids of today, they have no manners!".
I chuckled but was somewhat taken aback with being called a young man 🤣
The next thing I know, the cashier who was a young woman, joins in and says "Yes, young man that really was awesome of you."
The cashier and I then chatted about manners or rather the lack of them in kids nowadays.
It made my day though being called awesome, and as Jerry said it was good for my soul.
I packed up my groceries and left the store. At the exit who should be sitting on a bench, but the little old lady.
I had a wee blether with her, and it transpired the kids had shook her up a bit, so she was having a breather. I took her bags and walked her to her car, and waited until she drove off, before I left and walked home.

So there you go, you all do some or all of these little things already, so as I said in the title to this article You are Awesome.
I have been a project manager, an engineering manager and a construction manager all over the world and have learnt to guage human signals.
I have also seen a few posts recently where some hivers have been quite low, down in the dumps and/or depressed. This pandemic has affected everyone, both financially and mentally. It is Okay to not be okay, talk to someone if you need to.
Just before I go, I have always told people this simple wee thing to do to Lift yourself Up
Go stand in front of a mirror.
Then say to the person you see in the mirror...
"Hey xxxx You are Awesome, You really are awesome."
Now list a couple of things you have done recently and then see a smile come across your lips.
I usually do it by winking at the charming rascal I see in my mirror🤣
It really is the simple things in life, the little things that count most to me. Do say your please's and thank you's, be kind, be polite and let The Universe be kind and polite back to you.
Just my little thoughts for today.
Whilst I was copying my photos from my google pictures, I saw this post from the 9th of February 2021.
@fionasfavourites was saying in their part of the world that February was often the hottest month and I was saying February is the coldest month in Scotland, well that is the proof why 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for reading and have a magical rest of your week!
