Hi there everyone, I hope that you're all well and loving all of Mother Earth's #FeatheredFriends wherever you are and whatever you are doing!
Although I dearly love birds, I rarely get a chance to post anything here these days and that's simply because the only birds that I ever see in the city, are Pigeons and Seagulls, Seagulls and Pigeons and as much as I love them, and especially the sounds of the Pigeons cooing, I'm not sure you guys would love it too much if I was constantly posting photos of them here.
However, just a few days ago, I was so absolutely lucky enough to stumble upon this rare sighting of an amazing bird native to only Australia, the lovely lyrical Lyrebird and you can find it here [//]:# (!pinmapple -37.216215 lat 150.013910 long The lyrically lying Australian lyrebird lives here d3scr)

In my 50 years, I have never seen one in the wild and after the 2019/2020 bushfires, there are not that many left in the wild either, so imagine my suprise and absolute awe as I passed one when bush walking the other day through the beautiful Bittangabee Bay on the Far South Cost of NSW and was able to sit and film it as it sung a series of 'lies'.
As they are notable songsters and impersonators. They can mimic practically any sound they hear from their environment, including human sounds like mill whistles, chainsaws, fire alarms, car alarms, car engines, explosions, camera shutters, rifle-shots, crying babies, human voice and even music and women's screams..... https://www.australiananimallearningzone.com/lyrebird.htm
I can hear Kookaburra's, Magpies, Cockatoos, Parrots, Sparrow calls, but I know that there are a few others there that I don't recognise so I would love to hear your thoughts.
They can also mimic the call of other birds and barking of dogs. They also have their distinctive own calls that are meant for other activities and I had the extraordinary luck of stumbling across one when I had my camera on me, so I hope that you enjoy this rare recording and I would love to know just how many different sounds and bird calls that you can hear coming from this one tiny little beak!
