Every week @nelinoeva hosts a fun contest in the Feathered Friends Community. This week's theme is BIRDS CROWS IN FLIGHT.
Hopper and I were playing kibble catch when I took these photos. You wouldn't believe how challenging it is to aim a kibble at a crow's mouth while aiming a camera at a black bird that autofocus constantly argues is only a worthless shadow.
Most of the shots that caught Hopper in focus came out like this:
the reason being that playing a successful game of kibble catch with Hopper was far more important than capturing him in mid flight/hop.
Fortunately for Hopper his name is Hopper which means he is quite good at hopping up and catching a snack, you know, on the wing.
He was probably a bat in a past life.
If you want to see a SHITTON of crows in flight you can watch this video. I can't remember if I've shared it on Hive but I'm pretty sure I haven't.
It's a music video featuring the downtown Portland crow roost. The music is mine, as in written and played by me. The crows are not mine. They belong only to themselves.
Thanks for checking out my entry to the #smap contest! You can use the link at the beginning of the post to see the rules if you want to enter, but since I always enter this contest at the last minute there isn't much time left. Fortunately, the theme is open to all birds, not just crows like I would have you believe, so maybe you have a couple flying bird shots up your sleeve.
