you might get inspired and get in on some springtime action
this pair of rose-ringed parakeets (Psittacula krameri) was making their nest on a vertical wall of amer fort outside of jaipur, rajasthan. i'm not sure we caught them in the mating act but they were pretty amorous
true to their name the males have a rose pink ring around the neck with another blackish ring just above it. they are otherwise a bright green but the tail feathers are more blue and breast slightly more yellowish
this pair seemed well adapted the urban setting but we have them in our garden trees in maharashtra. i have not seem them nesting at our place but there are a few coconut trees with suitable holes that they may use without us knowing.
mostly they come to feed on our chickoos and mangoes. we are very happy to see them but not quite so eager to have them eating the mangoes
ok fun's over. now he's getting to work finishing the house
if this pair is anything like us, she'll be telling him where to put what
