North of the Danube in Vienna there is an intersting waterpark where several birds nest and bring up their children. One of the bigger birds there is the Grey heron that lives there in an big colony with several individuals breeding every year. From time to timne when I visit Vienna I also often stop by at the grey heron colony and take some pictures, so did I some weeks ago when I was there together with Stefan. They grey herons already having their offspring (children) and it is nice to watch how patiently they wait for their parents to return with some food.
Because this colony is situated in the City of Vienna, these birds are not as shy to humans as they are in other regions of Austria. And I have to admit it is the only place where I can get so close to them without them fleeing.
