I like kestrels and other birds of prey very much since they are always very fascinating to me. And sometimes I have the opportunity to get very close to this kind of birds. Falcons are some birds that are more or less common here in austria and probably the most common bird of prey here. On a trip to the wineyards outside of Vienna I found this specimen sitting on a branch very close to me so I had to take some pictures, while some other photography friends of mine were concentrated on finding some insects and closeup pictures of flowers. This Kestrel was sitting there and watching us looking for flowers and insects. But I was prepared and used my 150-600mm lens for some pictures of the bird. Luckily I had several lenses with me in my backpack this day.
