Especially in early spring when the leaves on the bushes and the trees are still missing it is easier to take some nice pictures of birds that want to enjoy the warm sunrays and start their mating songs. Because of the absence of the leaves it is a lot easier to spot the birds since hiding for them is a lot more difficult during this time and also it is the beginning of their mating season so they are even more happy to show off. For me the robin is one of my favorite birds since it always looks so happy and I have to admit that I often tend to smile and be happy when it is around and I am able to take some pictures of it.

The robin is one of the more common birds here and I see it more often compared to other bird species. But this is also due to the fact that it usually gets close to humans without fleeing. When doing garden work it often waits nearby to catch some worms and insects that are exposed when the gardener is working with soil.
