During spring time I like to watch birds mating and nesting to produce their offspring. Some species are easier to watch than others and one of these is the great crested grebe. If you know some good nesting spots of these birds than it might be easy to take some pictures of these birds on their nests. A long lens and camouflage helps to get closer to the birds without disturbing them. These birds are really photogenic birds and watching them is funny something very entertaining also. I really enjoy sitting there and just watching the birds doing their thing. This time I also had a lot of luck with the weather and the light. And especially the nest building and bonding activity of these birds is an amazing experience. But also the mating of these birds is a great experience to watch.
When watching birds i also found very interesting that most of the birds can sleep with only 1 half of their brain while the other one still stays awake so they can watch out for potential predators.
