Marsh Harrier building its nest in the reeds

In 2019 I found a very nice place where the Marsh Harriers build their nests nearby and I had the luck that I could watch them hunting, bringing in some nesting material and flying up and down the wetland and landing right in front of me in the reeds. Me and Stefan where hiding in a wooden hide on the edge of the wetland and we took several pictures of this nice event. I was also able to take several pictures of reed wrablers and other birds there and I plan to visit this place this spring too because it is a very nice spot for birdwatching in general.

When the Marsh Harriers are building their nest right in front of you it is a very good opportunity to get some nice pictures of them since they are returning every few minutes with some new nesting material or start from their nest always at the same position, so you just need to wait for them to show up the next time and try to take your shots. In this period it is important that you stay in the hide and don't disturb them too much so they are not giving up their nest in fear of human interference. So there is always the thought of yes I want to take a great picture and I hope not to disturb them too much.
