This weekend I was lucky and I could take a lot of beautiful pictures of birds once again. One bird that I managed to photography for the first time was this Purple Heron, and I am really happy that I was able to get some really nice shots of the bird in flight. Stefan and I were waiting for some birds at the wetlands of the March river when suddenly the purple heron was flying above our heads.
The first time seeing and photographing a new bird species is always something very special for me and that is why I am really happy that we saw the bird and also pretty close. Of course 600mm and cropped images is not as close as I wanted but for my first encounter it is great.
