When taking pictures of birds in the early morning or the evening it is possible to get a nice reflection of them in the water, depending where the light source is (in this case the sun) the reflection of the bird is either nearly complete or a little distorted (depending on the light incidence). This morning in October only a few minutes after sunrise I had the perfect light for some relfection photography, and I was happy to find a beautiful bird like this redshank looking for food there in the shallow water of the Inn River wetlands.
Unfortunately I couldn't get directly to water level so I had to shoot from a little elevation, but without a floating hide this is probably nearly impossible to archive. So the reflections are not perfect in the middle, but maybe this is also good since it doesn't look like create with Photoshop.

Only 3 months and then spring is finally here again. I already look forward to it with great anticipation since this is the favorite time of me in the year when it comes to bird photography, and I have so many spots that I want to visit for some photography. I have already marked most of them on my Google Maps so depending on weather and conditions I have severals spots to visit on one day that are close to each other. Google Maps is a really nice Tool for that.
I think it is a beautiful bird. Picture: Florian Glechner.
