Aurora is going to be popping up in my feed from time to time, so I wanted to introduce her formally to the Feathered Friends Community.
She is a beautiful Sun Conure who came to us as a gift just a few short months back. So we adopted her from a family that has an autistic son, just like us.
Problem was, Conures have a high-pitched screech and it really bothered the boy. Our son Logan is able to handle the noise as she speaks up the way she does.
My wife knows the family through the husband who she works with. He made the offer and my wife asked me if it would be ok. The rest is history.
Aurora loves taking a bath when my wife Erin is around the sink. She has her way of letting her know. It involves climbing on her shirt and facing toward the sink.
As my wife puts it, I'm Aurora's person. She is quite lavishing with her affection and just loves to cuddle.
Here she is slightly puffed up. She knows I'm pointing the camera at her. That puffiness of her feathers is a sign she's happy.
Aurora was more than a little freaked out when we first got her so I did my best to make her feel safe and comfortable. Now she comes to hand anytime I put my fingers out.
She likes giving kisses for sure.
Though sometimes they land in the ear or in the eye!!
Along with a wonderful addition to our family, the previous owners donated the cage as well. It came with toys and food to get us going. We've added a bit since then.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed meeting Aurora. There will be more posts of her to come as she discovers new adventures and new troubles.
Thanks for reading and Happy Hiveing, @inalittlewhile
