When we talk about black birds, the image of crows and cuckoos first comes to mind. However, black drongos is one of the black birds. Its body color is completely black. Of course it is also called the royal crow.
The difference between the Crow and the Black Drongos, however, is that the Black Drongo is smaller in size than the Crow. Moreover, its body is completely black. Its tail is much larger. Especially much bigger than a crow's tail.
This bird whistles wonderfully. So in some areas it is also known as whistle bird. It is found in large numbers in almost every rural area of Bangladesh. This is a very brave bird. It does not hesitate to chase any bird. It also chases birds of prey, kites or vultures. So no other bird wants to flock to it easily.
This black bird is now seen sitting on a tree or pole or on the grass by the side of the road. This bird is especially seen in the back streets of our village. This is because the road has flowed along the middle of the crop land and the lands are now submerged due to the rainy season. And the insects have moved from the land to the road or the side of the road. And other birds, including this one, can be seen flying along the side of the road to feed on this insect.
When I was returning home in the evening after walking on the road in the afternoon two days ago, I suddenly saw this bird sitting on a pole on the side of the road. I opened the camera on my mobile and tried to take some photography. But the camera made it look small so I tried to zoom in and do some photography. Of course then it sat still and gave me some opportunities to do photography.
