🦉 The great tit (Parus major)
- Parus (lat.) Tit
- major (lat.) large

Everyone knows this bird! Bright yellow belly, black "cap" and white cheeks. Even those who don't know much about birds will recognize it right away.

They do not sit still for a second, jump from branch to branch, hang upside down, examine every branch and crack in the bark in search of insects. In winter, they are frequent guests at bird feeders. Moreover, they behave like real hooligans, drive away other tits, and often quarrel with each other.

It's funny to watch them deal with the seeds. Not like sparrows, which peck them on the spot. The tit grabs the seed, flies to the nearest branch, holds it with its paws and pecks at it with its beak until it gets to the kernel.
