Here are a few sightings of the week for this #featheredfriday
Right out my balcony window way across town I saw a young red tailed hawk land on an evergreen tree.
It was getting harassed by some smaller birds and some crows and hid here to escape them.
I went down to try and get better shots but from below the bird was hidden. Fortunately I did see this scared squirrel below.
The sparrows didn't seem to care at all about it.
I suspect house sparrows aren't part of a red tailed hawk's main course and they are probably too fast and little for the hawk to care about them.
Meanwhile the summer heat has filled up the shallow swamp areas with duckweed. The ducks are loving it.
Frogs are writhing around in it too.
Thankfully lots of tree swallows are around to eat mosquitos hatching out of the swamp. There were even some helicopters dropping pellets into the swamp the other day to kill off the mosquitos.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
