Here is an inexperience osprey trying to build a nest.
I saw a large shadow on the ground and looked up to see this huge osprey carrying a stick to build a nest.
Then I noticed there was a nesting platform off in the distance. So I decided to camp out a bit to watch them.
Then I saw another one show up with a stick. Turns out this is a pair building a nest for this year.
This one that my wife thought was the female brought the branch to the nest quite efficiently.
It landed and place the branch right where it wanted while striking a nice pose for me.
Meanwhile it was looking up at its mate circling around with a branch wondering why he hasn't placed his branch yet...
He flew over the nest box over and over again trying to figure out how to place the branch. Perhaps this branch was too weird of a shape and he couldn't figure out how to land with it.
He did at least five flyovers giving me plenty of shots.
Still he couldn't figure out how to land while his partner was placing more sticks than him.
Legend has it to this day he is still trying to figure out how to let go of that branch.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
