I recently learned about the existence of the PlayStation Wrap-Up. This trend, present on many platforms, is gaining popularity, with more and more companies providing this kind of information to their users at the end of the year. The PlayStation Wrap-Up has been available since December 10th, but the website had technical issues, which is why users didn't receive any notification about it. I only found out yesterday that mine was ready.

Recientemente supe de la existencia del Wrap-up de PlayStation, esta tendencia presente en muchas plataformas gana popularidad y son mas lo que se suman a dar esta información a sus usuarios al final del año. El Wrap-up de PlayStation estuvo disponible desde el 10 de diciembre pero la pagina presentó problemas técnicos, por eso los usuarios no recibimos ningún tipo de notificación al respecto, fue hasta el dia de ayer que supe que el mio estaba listo.
For those who aren't familiar with the term, "wrap-up" can have several meanings in English. One of them is to finalize something, as well as to wrap or package something up. That's why the term is used to give summaries of something that is concluding. I'm sure you've already seen one of the most popular ones, Spotify Wrapped, but there are many others that have copied this trend and offer summaries of your participation on their platforms.
Para los que no están familiarizados con el término, Wrap-up puede tener varios significados en inglés, uno de ellos es poner punto final a algo, así como también envolver o empaquetar, por eso el término se utiliza para dar resúmenes de algo que concluye. Estoy seguro que ya has visto uno de los más populares que es el Spotify Wrapped, pero hay muchos otros que han copiado esta tendencia y ofrecen resúmenes de tu participación en sus plataformas.
The PlayStation one is quite simple. It offers information on the games you played the most during the year on PS5 and PS4, detailing the specific number of hours played, the total number of trophies, and in which games you accumulated the most. It's quite interesting because it breaks it down by month, so you can see how you invested your time in video games throughout the year.
El de PlayStation es bastante sencillo, ofrece la información de los juegos que mas jugastes durante el año en PS5 y PS4, detallando la cantidad específica de horas jugadas, la cantidad total de trofeos y en cuales juegos acumulastes mas. Es bastante interesante porque lo divide por mes, para que así conozcas como invertiste tu tiempo en videojuegos durante el año.
Steam and Xbox users also have similar services, known as Steam Replay and Xbox Year in Review. If you didn't know, it would be good to look into them and share them, since it's a good time to do so since we're just starting this new year. The great thing about these types of statistics is that they keep you informed of what your achievements have been, which games you can go back to finish, and if you're competitive, what to improve in this new year.
Los usuarios de Steam y Xbox también tiene servicios similares, se conocen como Steam Replay y Xbox Year, si no lo sabias, seria bueno que lo investigues y puedas compartirlo, ya que es buen momento porque apenas comenzamos este nuevo año. Lo genial de este tipo de estadísticas es que te ponen al tanto cuales han sido tus logros, que juegos puedes retomar para culminar y si eres competitivo, que mejorar en este nuevo año.
Returning to my statistics, there isn't much to say. I played 13 games this year, but I really only played one myself, which was Call of Duty. My sons played the rest, split between Astro Playroom and The Last of Us. My eldest son just finished the latter at the end of the year.
Volviendo a mis estadísticas, no hay mucho que decir, fueron 13 los juego que jugué este año, pero realmente yo solo jugue 1 que fue Call of Duty, mis hijos hicieron el resto, se reparten entre Astro Playroom y The Last of Us, este último lo acaba de jugar mi hijo mayor finalizando el año.
Obviously, since the majority of hours on my PlayStation account were invested in a first-person shooter like Warzone, I received the "Sharp Shooter" designation, because 87% of my time was spent on this type of game. This was demonstrated in the May statistics, in which I played a total of 62 hours, and as I told you, about 13 hours at the end of the year in The Last of Us Part 1.
Obviamente como la mayor cantidad de horas en mi cuenta de PlayStation fueron invertidas en un shooter de primera persona como Warzone, recibí el calificativo de Sharp Shooter, porque fue el 87% del tiempo invertido en este tipo de juegos. Eso quedo demostrado en las estadísticas del mes de mayo, en el cual jugué un total de 62 horas, y como les conte al final del año unas 13 horas en The Last of Us parte 1.
There were a total of 239 hours of video games this year. Some might think that was a lot, but gamers who are reading this know that that's absolutely nothing. A year has 8760 hours, therefore 239 hours represents only 2.72% of the time. That's why I'm very clear that I would have liked that number to be different, but it wasn't just a matter of having other obligations; it was also a matter of not having other games available.
Fueron un total de 239 horas de videojuegos este año, algunos pensaran que fue mucho, pero los gamers que estan leyendo esto saben que eso no es absolutamente nada. Un año tiene 8760 horas, por lo tanto 239 horas representa solo el 2.72% del tiempo, por eso esoty muy claro que me hubiera gustado que ese número sea distinto, pero no solo fue por cuestión de tener otras obligaciones, fue también un asunto de no disponer de otros juegos.
The topic of trophies is a whole other thing. For the most hardcore PlayStation users, obtaining them is part of the game's achievements, especially the platinum trophy, which indicates that you have obtained and completed absolutely everything in the game: challenges, collectibles, or any easter egg. I've never platinumed a game. I don't know if I'll be up for it at my age, but I think it's something I should do before I lose all interest in video games, so there's a good story to tell.
El tema de los trofeos es todo un tema, para los usuarios más fanáticos del PlayStation obtenerlos es parte de los logros del juego, en especial el de platino que es el que señala que has obtenido y complido todo absolutamente todo en el juego, desafíos, coleccionables o cualquier easter egg. Nunca he platinado un juego, no se si a mi edad me anime, pero creo que es algo que debo hacer antes que le pierda todo el interés a los videojuego, para que quede una buena historia que contar.
The Wrap-Up on my son's account tells a different story. On that account, we started giving my youngest daughter some playing time as well, since she still plays under our supervision. Her time is divided between God of War Ragnarok, which she played at the beginning of 2024 (it was her Christmas present), and the rest between Roblox, Fall Guys, and Astrobot, which my youngest daughter played.
El Wrap-up de la cuenta de mi hijo cuenta una historia diferente, en esa cuenta le comenzamos a dar un espacio a mi hija menor también, ya que ella juego bajo nuestra supervisión aun. Su tiempo está dividido entre God of War Ragnarok que jugó a principios del 2024, fue su regalo de navidad, y lo demás entre Roblox, Fall Guys y Astrobot que jugó mi hija menor.
