March 21 of this year, that was the date I ran out of unlimited internet at home. Since then I have been working with data from my cell phone, going to public places or restaurants where I can work with their wifi and eat in the process.
Last Saturday, August 5, more than four months later, I was able to get fiber optic service installed in my home. I will not go into the details of why I had not installed it as it is not even worth mentioning, these services in my country leave much to be desired.
The point is that finally the technicians came to my community to install the service I needed so much again.
21 de marzo de este año, esa fue la fecha en la que me quedé sin internet ilimitado en casa. Desde entonces he estado trabajando con datos de mi celular, yendo a sitios públicos o restaurantes donde pueda trabajar con su wifi y comer en el proceso.
El sábado pasado, 5 de agosto, más de cuatro meses después, logré instalar el servicio de fibra óptica en mi casa. No voy a entrar en detalles de por qué no lo había instalado pues no vale la pena ni mencionarlo, estos servicios en mi país dejan mucho que desear.
El punto es que finalmente los técnicos llegaron por fin a mi comunidad a instalar el servicio que tanto necesitaba otra vez.
I must say that once the internet was available for my area, it was not difficult at all to contact the technicians.
They arrived home with all their equipment and the necessary equipment to do all the installation. Luckily I already had my setup well installed, with the only problem being that I had no internet, until that Saturday.
Debo decir que una vez que el internet estuvo disponible para mi zona, no fue nada difícil contactar con los técnicos.
Estos llegaron a casa con todos sus implementos y los equipos necesarios para hacer toda la instalación. Por suerte ya tenía mi setup bien instalado, con el único problema de que no tenía internet, hasta ese sábado.
I honestly thought the fiber optic installation would be a bit more difficult, but no, it was quite fast and easy, at least for them who already have the practice and experience.
They just took the devices out of their boxes and started installing everything right next to my pc, after laying the fiber optic cable inside my house.
Sinceramente pensé que la instalación de la fibra óptica sería un poco más difícil, pero no, fue bastante rápido y sencillo, al menos para ellos que ya tienen la práctica y la experiencia.
Solo sacaron los dispositivos de sus cajas y comenzaron a instalar todo justo al lado de mi pc, después de colocar el cable de fibra óptica dentro de mi casa.

The installation was simple and did tests with the LAN cable, because I had no router at that time, at least I did not have it configured at that time.
The good thing was that the computer received internet at that time, at least I had internet on my laptop and that was enough. All the lights were green.
La instalación fue sencilla e hicieron pruebas con el cable LAN, porque no tenía router en ese momento, al menos no lo tenía configurado en ese momento.
Lo bueno fue que el equipo recibió internet en ese momento, al menos tenía internet en mi laptop y eso ya era bastante. Todas las luces estaban en verde.

One of the technicians told me that the modem-router I had would work as a fiber optic router, so I gave it to him, found the cables and he installed it as you can see in the pictures below.
Uno de los técnicos me dijo que el modem-router que yo tenía me funcionaría como router de la fibra óptica, así que se lo entregué, le busqué los cables y lo instaló tal como ven en las fotos de abajo.

I honestly thought that one would not work, because other technicians told me that I had to have $40 for the installation; additionally, I had to have $30 more to buy another router for the installation.
However, these technicians told me that only the installation cost $20 and nothing more, they even installed that router and everything was fine.
I think the others wanted to see my face, because from the $70 they wanted to charge me to the $20 they charged me, there is a big difference, being that both groups of technicians work for the same company.
Leaving that aside, everything is fine. The inter works and that is something to be thankful for.
Sinceramente pensé que ese no serviría, porque otros técnicos me dijeron que debía tener 40$ para la instalación; adicionalmente, debía tener 30$ más para comprar otro router para la instalación.
Sin embargo, estos técnicos me dijeron que solamente la instalación costaba 20 dólares y nada más, incluso instalaron ese router y todo bien.
Creo que los otros me querían ver la cara, porque de 70$ que me querían cobrar aquellos a los 20$ que me cobraron estos hay mucha diferencia, siendo que los dos grupos de técnicos trabajan para la misma compañía.
Dejando eso de lado, todo bien. El inter funciona y eso es algo que hay que agradecer.
Here I want to make a comparison between the two services.
In the image on the left you can see the speed of the fiber optic internet, a download speed of 34.56 Mbps, and an upload speed of 46.65 Mbps.
On the other hand, in the image on the right you can see the speed of the data shared from my Samsung Galaxy to my laptop. Just 9.49 Mbps download speed and 1.31 Mbps upload speed.
Aquí quiero hacer una comparativa entre los dos servicios.
En la imagen de la izquierda pueden ver la velocidad que tiene el internet de fibra óptica, una velocidad de descarga de 34.56 Mbps, y una velocidad de subida de 46.65 Mbps.
Por otra parte, en la imagen de la derecha pueden ver la velocidad de los datos compartidos de mi Samsung Galaxy a mi laptop. Apenas 9.49 Mbps de velocidad de descarga y 1.31 Mbps de subida.

It took a long time to get fiber optics to the community but now that I have it I am happy to have inter again. I hope it works well and does not give me as many problems as before.
Tardó bastante en llegar la fibra óptica a la comunidad pero ahora que lo tengo estoy contento de tener inter otra vez. Espero que funcione todo bien y no me de tantos problemas como antes.
