Nightfall Kingdom Frontier TD es un titulo precisamente de este estilo el cual cuenta con una estética visual bastante colorida y sencilla, así como una mecánica de gestión de reino que le da un toque de estrategia y variedad a la hora de jugar, igualmente una mecánica de mejora de personaje que tiene su elemento RPG y aspecto Gacha al momento de mejorarlo.

Aunque como todo juego Gacha si inviertes mucho en objetos la dificultad fácilmente desaparece. En este titulo controlamos a un pequeño rey que debe defenderse de varias oleadas de enemigos, nuestro rey puede atacar a los enemigos y tiene una habilidad especial que se recarga con el tiempo, pero lo más impórtate es que también podemos ir mejorando nuestra base o Reino desde cero en cada nivel para resistir los ataques.
En un inicio solamente contamos con nuestro castillo el cual si es destruido perdemos el nivel, a medida que vamos superando oleadas vamos recibiendo monedas para invertir, podemos construir edificios que nos generan mas dinero por ronda como lo son casas o molinos, también tenemos diferentes edificios militares como lo son cuarteles que generan soldados, torres defensivas, barricadas o murallas para tratar de detener a los enemigos, cada edifico se puede ir mejorando con mas oro lo cual aumenta sus estadísticas, en caso de los cuarteles al inicio solo nos otorgar 4 soldados en todo momento, pero con cada mejora aumenta en 4 unidades más.
Todas la unidades se van desplazando y atacando automáticamente y cuando una muere de una vez comienza a generarse otra en el cuartel, aunque también las podemos comandar y mover hasta la posición que deseemos antes de comenzar la oleada, esto será muy importante en niveles avanzados debido a que si les dejas mucho tiempo de ventaja a los monstruos o tu soldados están mal ubicados fácilmente pueden destruirte edificios muy rápido antes que lleguen tus tropas o pueden generarse tantos enemigos que resultara difícil detenerlos, el saber posicionar a tus soldados resulta crucial para la aventura, así como saber utilizar en el momento justo la habilidad de tu rey, aunque el aspecto mas importante en cuanto a la estrategia será la gestión de tu reino, saber muy bien como invertir el dinero y que edificios mejorar primero.

Como la mayoría de videojuego móviles, Nightfall Kingdom Frontier TD también cuenta con un aspecto Gacha y varias recompensas por superar cada nivel, así como por recompensas adicionales por ver anuncios, estas recompensas mayormente son oro y diamantes los cuales nos sirven para mejorar objetos y también para conseguir objetos nuevos en la tienda mediante el sistema de gacha. Tenemos varios tipos de objetos que podemos equipar a nuestro personaje como lo es arma, montura, colgante y hasta tipo de personaje, cada objeto tiene varios niveles de rareza y entre mas raro sea el objeto mas habilidades pasiva tiene, para mejorar los objetos se necesita oro y pergaminos de mejora que podemos conseguir al superar niveles o en un botín diario que podemos recoger, lo positivo es que no mejoras el objeto como tal sino la casilla del objeto, por ese motivo si por ejemplo mejoras un arma verde hasta el 15 y luego consigues un arma morada o mas rara, al equiparla automáticamente pasa a ser nivel 15.
También contamos con otras formas de mejorar nuestra fuerza o habilidades en los niveles para tener mas posibilidades de vencer, contamos con un árbol de habilidad que nos permite subir las estadísticas de nuestras tropas, edificios y Rey, también nos permite desbloquear nuevas unidades o mejoras el árbol de habilidad, algunas unidades generan edificios nuevos como el caso de los arqueros que nos permite crear cuarteles de arqueros, otras mejoras se aplican a los mimos edificios, pero teniendo más opciones al momento de mejorarlos como puede ser los lanceros que su cuartel será el mismo de los soldados con espada, pero escoges cual construir, también mejoras en torres defensivas que al subirlas de nivel podemos escoger en cual convertirla.
También contamos con una serie de objetos llamados cartas, se consiguen en la tienda utilizando gemas con el formato gacha y estas cartas son mejoras adicionales que podemos equipar, desde mejorar las estructuras, hasta mejorar el daño o salud de nuestro rey o soldados, incluso reducir el tiempo que el rey demora en revivir una vez muere en combate. El ver anuncios para mejorar las recompensas está presente en todo momento y aunque no es obligatorio, algunos anuncios son muy extensos en verdad, puedes utilizarlos para conseguir mas oro, gemas o pergaminos de mejoras, incluso para conseguir llaves para objetos tanto armas como cartas, cada llave nos permite hacer un lanzamiento del gacha gratuito.
