The video game industry is perhaps one of the largest worldwide and throughout history has had incredible moments and titles that have thrilled and amazed us with its quality, during these years there have been moments and games that although in their time were fantastic, in the end ended up marking a before and after in the industry, although this could be a topic where everyone has their personal opinion I will comment on some titles that for me were very important in the revolution of video games.

Being one of my favorite sagas and with probably my favorite protagonist in the industry, it would be impossible not to mention the Tomb Raider saga. I have always had a great love for this saga and it is even more considering that it has my age, having been published in the same month and year of my birth, October 1996, this title since its first installment showed an incredible quality and emotion and where clearly marked a before and after in the gaming industry by introducing Lara as the protagonist and being perhaps one of the first and best known female protagonists in the industry.

We all remember Samus Aran, the protagonist of the Metroid saga, who arrived a few years before Lara, but the truth is that at the time of 2D titles it was not very evident that it was a special woman because only at the end of the adventure her identity was revealed, but in the case of Lara Croft from the first moment she was presented as a tough, agile, strong, determined archaeologist and adventurer, and above all, capable of facing a great variety of enemies, eliminating them without hesitation.

I still remember with nostalgia the time of the famous and immortal Warcraft III where were hundreds of hours of LAN games with my friends, battling among us and numerous handicap battles against 2 and 3 CPUs in expert for each of us, this title is undoubtedly part of the golden history of video games and probably for my criteria one of the most important games in the industry that if it had not existed most likely the course of history Gaming would not be as we know it and many incredible titles would not exist today.

This title had one of the best campaigns and story mode I have ever played in my life, I played and completed it several times and each time I was excited by the dialogues and scenes of the adventure, it was so much fanaticism and passion generated by this title that thanks to it was born the eternal WoW that has been so popular and addictive, although never was seen a new Warcraft title based on combat and army management the truth is that what it developed was much more important and popular.
Not only was it enough to create one of the most famous MMORPGs in history, Warcraft III was also the creator and promoter of the MOBA genre with the first version of DOTA, a map created by the community thanks to the map editor and without realizing it, they had changed history forever creating one of the most popular, addictive and lucrative genres in the entire video game industry. It's no secret how popular and successful LoL is, but it wouldn't have existed if it hadn't been for the first Dota in history.

Maybe today DOTA in its original version for Warcraft III is practically forgotten and there are very few loyal fans who still play it, even its official version of DOTA 2 did not end up having the fame and importance in the industry as expected because dethroning LoL as the king of MOBAs today would be almost impossible, but in spite of everything it can not be denied that when Defense of the Ancients was released in the early 2000s was a moment of history and unknowingly at that time just changed forever the gaming industry and would end up being the pillar of the E-Sport and the great Gamer revolution that we live and still live today. Much is owed to that ancient map created by a fan more than 20 years ago.

La industria de los videojuegos es tal vez de las más grandes a nivel mundial y a lo largo de la historia ha tenido momentos increíbles y títulos que nos han emocionado y dejado alucinados con su calidad, durante estos años ha habido momentos y videojuegos que si bien en su tiempo fueron fantásticos, al final terminaron marcando un antes y un después en la industria, si bien esto podría ser un tema en donde cada quien tenga su opinión personal les comentare algunos títulos que para mí fueron muy importante en la revolución de los videojuego.

Siendo de mis sagas favoritas y con probablemente mi protagonista favorita en la industria sería imposible no mencionar la saga de Tomb Radier. Siempre he tenido gran amor por esta saga y es aún más considerando que tiene mi edad al haber sido publicado en el mismo mes y año de mi nacimiento, octubre del 1996, este título desde su primera entrega mostro una calidad y emoción increíble y en donde claramente marco un antes y después en la industria de los videojuegos al presentar a Lara como la protagonista y siendo tal vez una de las primeras y más conocidas protagonistas femeninas en la industria.

Todo recordamos a Samus Aran la protagonista de la saga Metroid y que llego vairos años antes que Lara, pero la verdad en la época de los títulos en 2D no era muy evidente que se trataba de una mujer en especial porque solamente al final de toda la aventura se revelaba su identidad, pero en el caso de Lara Croft desde el primer instante se presentaba como una Arqueóloga y aventurera aguerrida, ágil, fuerte, determinada y por sobre todo capaz de enfrentar a gran variedad de enemigos eliminándolos sin dudar.
El antes y después de Tomb Raider es evidente en donde además de dar gran relevancia a los títulos de aventuras también fue por mucho tiempo el icono y pilar de las protagonistas femeninas, como no todo en la vida puede ser perfecto para otras personas también puede ser el antes y después de lo que sería la sexualizacion de personajes en los videojuegos lo cual hoy en día es bastante frecuente en títulos recientes, lo más curioso de todo es como parte de la revolución que genero Tomb Raider desde su nacimiento fue los “atributos” de Lara Croft y como los mismos se debieron a un pequeño error de programación en donde un miembro del equipo desarrollador tuvo el error de asignar el valor de 500% en lugar de 50% a la parte frontal del Spite de la famosa Lara.

Tanto para bien como para mal analizando de otro punto de vista, es indudable que la saga Tomb Raider y la llegada en escena de la famosa Lara Croft fue un momento que marco la industria de los videojuegos y ha creado gran cantidad de títulos y momentos icónicos en la industria, una saga que hoy en día sigue activa y ahora con su relanzamiento en 2013 y nuevo enfoque de Lara joven, inexperta y más humanizada ha vuelto a ser parte del top de videojuegos en donde estuvo durante tanto tiempo.

Aún recuerdo con nostalgia la época del famoso e inmortal Warcraft III en donde fueron cientos las horas de partidas LAN con mis amigos, batallando entre nosotros y numerosas batallas en desventaja contra 2 y 3 CPU en experto por cada uno de nosotros, este título sin duda es parte de la historia de oro de los videojuegos y probablemente para mi criterio uno de los juegos más importantes en la industria que si no hubiera existido muy probablemente el curso de la historia Gaming no fuera como la conócenos y muchos títulos increíbles no existieran hoy en día.

Este título tuvo una de las mejores campañas y modo historia que he jugado en mi vida, la jugué y completé varias veces y en cada ocasión me emocionaba por los diálogos y escenas de la aventura, fue tanto el fanatismo y pasión generado por este título que gracias a este nació el eterno WoW que tan popular y adictivo ha sido, aunque más nunca se vio un nuevo título de Warcraft basado en combates y gestión de ejércitos la verdad lo que desarrollo fue mucho más importante y popular.
No solo basto con crear uno de los MMORPG más famosos de la historia, Warcraft III también fue el creador e impulsor del genero MOBA con la primera versión de DOTA, un mapa creado por la comunidad gracias al editor de mapas y que sin darse cuenta habian cambiado la historia para siempre creado uno de los géneros más populares, adictivos y lucrativos en toda la industria de los videojuegos. Para nadie es un secreto lo popular y exitoso de LoL pero este no existiera de no haber sido por el primer Dota de la historia.

Puede que hoy en día DOTA en su versión original para Warcraft III este prácticamente en el olvido y sean muy pocos los fanáticos fieles que aún lo jugamos, incluso su versión oficial de DOTA 2 no termino de tener la fama e importancia en la industria como se esperaba debido a que destronar a LoL como el rey de los MOBA hoy en día sería casi imposible, pero a pesar de todo no se puede negar que cuando salió a la luz Defense of the Ancients a inicios de la década de los 2000 fue un momento historia y que sin saberlo en ese momento acabada de cambiar para siempre la industria de los videojuegos y terminaría siendo el pilar de los E-Sport y la gran revolución Gamer que vivimos y aún seguimos viviendo hoy en día. Mucho se le debe a ese antiguo mapa creado por un fanático hace más de 20 años.
