Microsoft recently rolled out Copilot for Windows 11 users. According to the AI itself, it is a feature on Windows that uses an AI model generated by GitHub, OpenAI, and Microsoft. For Windows users, the Copilot preview is available on the taskbar and can be accessed as it was Cortana. There are pros and cons of this preview of Copilot, which I will discuss in today’s blog. I am not sure if everyone has an access to this already but mine does and it's pretty amazing. Apparently it has rollout around 6 days now. If you have the latest windows 11, it's time doing an upgrade to check it out!

With Copilot available for Windows 11 users, it’s a huge step towards mass adoption of AI. Now everyone doesn’t have to go to a browser just to log in to ChatGPT. It’s now available in one click and is capable of similar tasks as ChatGPT, except it has a few integrated features such as troubleshooting, setting the volume, changing wallpaper, and even launching apps. I have to say that this is quite an ambitious work by them.

I am amazed by its capabilities that it can even create an image powered by DALL-E as well as writing code using Python, Java, C#, and more. Certainly the coding part needs quite a review, but as a tool that can help with learning, it’s simply amazing.

For example, the picture below is created by Copilot AI and you can even refine the image on it too by adding some more specifications to the prompt. From the results I got so far, I am fairly satisfied and amazed.

Now, even if you’re not so tech-savvy, as long as you have the recent Windows 11, you can get access to this tool! Although when it comes to images, since they’re tied to Bing search, it’s very slow and isn’t of good quality.

Now, compared to ChatGPT, this has more use for everyday Windows users as it works similar to Cortana and even more. You can also browse quickly without having to open a browser. As the world becomes more automated, Copilot AI is definitely trying to be at the forefront of mass adoption. Since it’s connected to Bing, it certainly knows the up-to-date data set from 2023. Another intriguing part of it is that you can use it to find people as again, it’s connected to a search engine. I also read that they’re trying to integrate AI into their Microsoft suite which will be a huge step as you don’t have to use google docs to properly check basic grammar and spelling. Copilot AI can do it all!

Since it’s a tool that almost knows-it-all, are we expecting the future to dumb down and heavily rely on AI assistants such as Copilot?

And one thing for sure, AI is here to stay as well as facial recognition. I am not stoked about any of it but it’s there and is slowly gaining mass adaption too.
