River Raid... Nostalgia Atari. Mi época de los 80, fue un tiempo donde las consolas de videojuegos eran la diversión total en todo momento. Una de esas consolas que tuve en mis manos fue el Atari y allí me divertía un montón con la cantidad de videojuegos que tenía. Para ese momento todos los juegos eran de última generación y para nosotros, las imágenes y sonidos de los juegos eran lo máximo. Díganme el juego de fútbol de ese tiempo, nada que ver con el FIFA de hoy en día; en aquel tiempo solo eran unos muñequitos que se distinguían por el color que tenían cada equipo. Vaya que tiempos del Atari 2600 y todos sus juegos; pero el juego del que vamos a hablar hoy es el popular River Raid de 1982.

River Raid; ese video juegos de un pequeño avión que debía avanzar destruyendo a todos los enemigos a su paso. Juego que fue desarrollado en 1982 por Activision, para jugarlo en las consolas de Atari, así como lo hice en aquellos tiempos y que ahora lo podemos revivir, porque está disponible en la versión móvil que se puede descargar de la play store. Actualmente; desde la tienda de Android podemos volver al pasado y disfrutar de todos estos juegos retro, así como lo he hecho con River Raid, diversión total y retroceso en el tiempo.

River Raid... Atari Nostalgia. My time in the 80's, was a time where video game consoles were total fun at all times. One of those consoles that I had in my hands was the Atari and there I had a lot of fun with the amount of video games I had. At that time all the games were of the latest generation and for us, the images and sounds of the games were the best. Tell me the soccer game of that time, nothing to do with the FIFA of today; at that time they were just a few dolls that were distinguished by the color that each team had. Those were the times of the Atari 2600 and all its games; but the game we are going to talk about today is the popular River Raid from 1982.

River Raid; that video game of a small plane that had to advance destroying all the enemies in its path. Game that was developed in 1982 by Activision, to play it on Atari consoles, just as I did in those days and now we can relive it, because it is available in the mobile version that can be downloaded from the play store. Currently; from the Android store we can go back to the past and enjoy all these retro games, just as I have done with River Raid, total fun and back in time.

Como dije antes, está disponible en la play store; lo buscas con el nombre de River Raid, te aparece el pequeño avión, lo descargas y listo; ya lo tienes instalado en tu dispositivo, además no pesa casi nada. Ya al tenerlo instalado, solo presionas el ícono y ya estás dentro del juego; solo debes darle play y de inmediato puedes jugar sin problemas.

La jugabilidad es muy sencilla; claro que si recordamos el Atari, tendríamos nuestro control de mando y el botón para los disparos. Sin embargo; estamos en la era digital y lógicamente los controles son táctiles. En la parte izquierda de la pantalla, puedes ver los controles de movimiento de nuestro avión, a la izquierda y a la derecha; de velocidad para acelerar y bajar la velocidad; arriba acelera y abajo disminuye la velocidad. Para acelerar, puedes dejar presionado el botón y va aumentando su velocidad.

Por otra parte; en la sección derecha tenemos el botón de disparo; los puedes dejar presionado y dispara de forma continua; si lo quieres interminente, solo presiona, quitas el dedo y así lo vas haciendo. Si vemos un poco más arriba, tenemos el indicador de combustible y debajo de él, observamos el número de vidas que tenemos.

As I said before, it is available in the play store; you look for it with the name River Raid, the small plane appears, download it and that's it; you already have it installed on your device, plus it weighs almost nothing. Once you have it installed, just press the icon and you are already inside the game; you just have to press play and immediately you can play without any problems.

The gameplay is very simple; of course, if we remember the Atari, we would have our remote control and the button for shooting. However; we are in the digital era and logically the controls are tactile. On the left side of the screen, you can see the movement controls of our plane, left and right; speed to accelerate and slow down; up accelerates and down slows down. To accelerate, you can leave the button pressed and it will increase its speed.

On the other hand; in the right section we have the fire button; you can leave it pressed and it shoots continuously; if you want it endless, just press, remove your finger and so you do it. If we see a little higher, we have the fuel indicator and below it, we observe the number of lives we have.

Cuando inicies el juego, debemos tener cuidado porque si tocas cualquier elemento del juego; simplemente te estrellas y pierdes la vida. Si tocas la tierra, mueres; si tocas un barco, mueres; así que, como dije antes, mueres al chocar con cualquier elemento. Esto es algo raro; porque si es un avión, está sobre esos elementos; por el contrario, parece que el avión solo está navegando por el río; pero bueno, el juego es así y solo hay que tener cuidado de no morir porque solo tienes 3 vidas para ir subiendo de nivel.

When you start the game, we must be careful because if you touch any element in the game; you simply crash and lose your life. If you touch the ground, you die; if you touch a ship, you die; so, as I said before, you die when you hit any element. This is a bit weird; because if it's an airplane, it's over those elements; on the contrary, it seems that the airplane is just sailing along the river; but well, the game is like that and you just have to be careful not to die because you only have 3 lives to go up a level.

Entramos en el objetivo del juego y el logro de niveles; bueno, dentro del juego tienes barcos, helicópteros, aviones y estaciones de combustible. La misión es eliminar todos esos enemigos, vas sumando puntos y así avanzas sin parar; además, cada vez que destruyas los puentes irás subiendo de nivel. Sin embargo; parece que los niveles son infinitos, porque destruyes puente tras puente y el juego continúa de forma indefinida; por lo menos, yo jamás encontré fin, jejejejeje.

We enter the objective of the game and the achievement of levels; well, inside the game you have ships, helicopters, airplanes and fuel stations. The mission is to eliminate all these enemies, you add points and so you advance without stopping; in addition, every time you destroy the bridges you will go up a level. However, it seems that the levels are infinite, because you destroy bridge after bridge and the game continues indefinitely; at least, I never found an end, hehehehehehehe.

Lo cierto es que, al avanzar de nivel el río se hace más estrecho y los mapas van cambiando; lógicamente, el juego se va poniendo más complicado y debemos tener más cuidado, ya que habrán ocasiones donde el avión debe pasar por sitios con espacios mínimos. Antes les comenté que las estaciones de combustible se pueden destruir; sin embargo, es importante no hacerlo porque ellas permiten que nuestro avión cargue combustible; así que debes darte cuenta de tu medidor y verificar si te falta gasolina; si es así, solo pasas tu avión sobre esas estaciones y listo, ya recargas tu tanque; ojo, mientras avanza el juego, éstas estaciones de combustible aparecen muy poco.

Sinceramente; el juego es muy divertido y a medida que avanza se pone más difícil; claro está, que para muchos puede resultar aburrido debido al avance de estos video juegos; sin embargo, para quienes vivieron la época de las consolas como el Atari, sabrán de lo que estoy hablando; así que amigos míos, espero que hayan disfrutado un mundo y pronto tendremos más juegos retro para divertirnos juntos.

The truth is that, as we advance in levels, the river becomes narrower and the maps change; logically, the game becomes more complicated and we must be more careful, since there will be times when the plane must pass through places with minimum spaces. Before I mentioned that the fuel stations can be destroyed; however, it is important not to do it because they allow our plane to refuel; so you must take note of your meter and check if you are out of gas; if so, just pass your plane over those stations and ready, you refuel your tank; eye, as the game progresses, these fuel stations appear very little.

Honestly; the game is a lot of fun and as the game progresses it gets more difficult; of course, for many it can be boring due to the advance of these video games; however, for those who lived the era of consoles like the Atari, they will know what I'm talking about; so my friends, I hope you have enjoyed a world and soon we will have more retro games to have fun together.
