I'm not a big fan of skins in games, though in this sense I'm referring to single player games, whenever it's a single player adventure I like to keep the "original" skin of the character so to speak, games like The Last of Us or Resident Evil 2 Remake have skins you can use and replace the one the characters originally have, when I've already beaten a game several times things change, but the point is that, generally I don't use skins... but in multiplayer things change.

The last year I've had a new stage in my life where I've played mostly multiplayer video games, Monster Hunter, Forza Horizon, Rocket League, Lethal Company and a long list where the best battle royale game you can play today (in my opinion), Fortnite, also enters.

Epic Games' battle royale has been in everyone's mouth for its recent OG season where we returned to the original map of Chapter 1, a true bomb that broke its own records of players again and again, and as far as I know, those 11.5 million players during the Big Bang event are a number more than historic, now Chapter 5 has started, and I can only tell you that my first impressions are spectacular, I like what I see and this season I'm going to play for a long time, but here we come to talk about skins, not games.

And specifically we're talking about Christmas skins, there's a pretty wide range of skins to choose from, and I came up with several options while thinking about what would be my choice for this post, I thought about the Doom Slayer's Christmas skin in Doom Eternal, but I don't have it unlocked and I haven't played it in months so it doesn't count for me, instead, I'll take a skin that I used a lot in Fortnite last year, and that this won't be the exception.

This is the skin called Artic Adeline, which if I don't remember wrong, they gave away at Christmas in 2022, I honestly don't remember exactly how I got it, but for me it's quite pretty, I haven't seen many people using this skin even during the time they gave it away, but to each their own, and that's why in this post you'll be seeing some of the pictures I took with this skin while playing, obviously they correspond to chapter 5 so you can notice the improvements they've made to the game in graphics, lighting, and so on, it's a joy to play and I really couldn't be happier with what they're doing with the game.

In case anyone is interested in the way I took the photos, I simply used the repetition mode with the graphics as high as the pc allowed me, some irregular events happened to me, like being able to see my character descending while making an emote, or some strange movements when I paused, but in this mode there have always been that type of imperfections and the truth is the least, the game looks beautiful.

No soy demasiado fanática de las skins en los juegos, aunque en este sentido me refiero a los single player, siempre que se trata de una aventura individual me gusta mantener la skin “original” del personaje por así decirlo, juegos como The Last of Us o Resident Evil 2 Remake tienen skins que puede utilizar y reemplazan a la que los personajes tienen originalmente, cuando ya me he pasado un juego varias veces la cosa cambia, pero el punto es ese, generalmente no uso skins… pero en los multijugador la cosa cambia.

El último año he tenido una nueva etapa en mi vida donde lo que más he jugado han sido videojuegos multijugador, Monster Hunter, Forza Horizon, Rocket League, Lethal Company y un largo etcétera donde también entra el que, para mi, es el mejor battle royale que se puede jugar hoy día, Fortnite.

El battle royale de Epic games ha estado en boca de todos por su reciente temporada OG donde volvimos al mapa original del Capítulo 1, una verdadera bomba que rompía sus propios records de jugadores una y una vez, y hasta donde yo sé, esos 11.5 millones de jugadores durante el evento del Big Bang son un número más que histórico, ahora ha empezado el Capítulo 5, y solo puedo decirles que mis primeras impresiones son espectaculares, me gusta lo que veo y esta temporada voy a jugar durante bastante tiempo, pero aquí venimos a hablar de skins, no de juegos.

Y específicamente hablamos de skins de navidad, es bastante amplio el catálogo de skins para escoger, y se me ocurrieron varias opciones mientras pensaba cuál sería mi elección para este post, pensé en skin navideña del Doom Slayer en Doom Eternal, pero no la tengo desbloqueada y tengo meses que no lo juego así que para mi no cuenta, en cambio, tomaré una skin que usé mucho en el Fortnite el año pasado, y que este no será la excepción.

Se trata de la skin llamada Adeline Ártica, la cual si no recuerdo mal regalaron en las navidades del 2022, honestamente no recuerdo cómo la obtuve exactamente, pero para mi es bastante linda, no he visto a demasiada gente usando esta skin ni siquiera durante el tiempo que la regalaron, pero para gustos colores, y es por eso que en este post estarán viendo algunas de las fotos que tomé con esta skin mientras jugaba, obviamente corresponden al capítulo 5 así que podrán notar las mejoras que le han hecho al juego en gráficos, iluminación y demás, es una gozada jugarlo y yo de verdad que no podría estar más feliz con lo que están haciendo con el juego.

Por si alguien se interesa en la forma en la que hice las fotos, simplemente utilicé el modo repetición con los gráficos tan altos como la pc me lo permitía, me ocurrieron algunos sucesos irregulares, como que pude ver a mi personaje descendiendo mientras hacia un emote, o algunos movimientos un tanto raros cuando pausaba, pero en este modo siempre han habido ese tipo de desperfectos y la verdad es lo de menos, el juego se ve hermoso.
