Hello community, for those of us who live in tropical climates it is normal to have to deal with an inconvenience: mosquitoes. These insects, despite being irritating both for their bites and for buzzing in our ears when we try to sleep, can be deadly. The reason is that they are capable of transmitting diseases such as dengue fever, Zika or chikungunya.
Repellents, incense, mosquito nets to sleep, are some of the options we have at our disposal to fight them. However, today I present as an alternative or complement a different utensil: the electric racket.

Estos insectos a pesar de ser irritantes tanto por sus picaduras como por zumbarnos en el oído cuando intentamos dormir pueden ser mortales. La razón es que son capaces de transmitir enfermedades como el dengue, zika o chikunguya.
Repelentes, inciensos, mosquiteros para dormir, son algunas de las opciones que tenemos a nuestro alcance para combatirlos. Sin embargo, hoy les presento como alternativa o complemento un utensilio diferente: la raqueta eléctrica.

Al observarla puede parecernos que es un juguete para que los niños jueguen al tenis o algo así, pero es todo lo contrario. De hecho, hay que tener cuidado de que los niños no accedan a ella pues pueden sufrir choques eléctricos o quemaduras por electricidad. En el caso de que se les vaya a permitir el acceso a la raqueta eléctrica antimosquitos debe siempre ser bajo supervisión, y, además, explicarles muy bien las medidas de protección y seguridad a seguir.

Como ven tiene un diseño bastante sencillo y tiene incrustado en varios lugares indicaciones de seguridad para evitar accidentes en su uso. Una de ellas es la de no tocar el tejido metálico mientras se está utilizando.
The reason is that this fabric transmits an electric current that kills mosquitoes (as shown in the picture below). The sound it makes may scare you the first time because it is similar to that of an electric cut, although it can become a little addictive so you run the risk of taking the fact of killing mosquitoes as a game.
La razón es que por este tejido se transmite una corriente eléctrica que es la que mata a los mosquitos (como se aprecia en la imagen debajo). El sonido que hace puede asustarte la primera vez porque es similar al de un corte eléctrico, aunque se puede volver un poco adictivo por lo que corres el riesgo de tomar el hecho de matar los mosquitos como un juego.
The duration of each charge depends on the use you give it, but it is quite durable. You can go several days of use without needing to charge it.
Among the safety directions we can find:
- Do not operate the power button while the racket is charging in the current.
- Avoid contact with water. Even for cleaning it is recommended to avoid the use of water, as this can then cause short circuits. Instead, it is recommended to shake it to release the residues of the removed insects.
- It is also not advisable to use it outdoors; it is a product designed for the interiors of houses.
- It should also be noted that the racket may lose some strength in rainy weather and in places where humidity is high. It is therefore recommended to store in dry places to recover power.
La duración de cada carga depende del uso que le des, pero es bastante duradera. Puedes pasar varios días de uso sin necesitar cargarla.
Entre las direcciones de seguridad podemos encontrar:
- No accionar el botón de encendido mientras la raqueta se está cargando en la corriente.
- Evitar el contacto con el agua. Incluso para limpiarla se recomienda que se evite el uso de agua, pues esta puede luego provocar cortocircuitos. En cambio, se recomienda agitarla para que se liberen los residuos de los insectos eliminados.
- Tampoco es aconsejable el uso en el exterior, es un producto pensado para los interiores de las casas.
- También hay que tener en cuenta que la raqueta puede perder cierta fuerza en los tiempos lluviosos y en los lugares donde la humedad es alta. Por lo que se recomienda guardar en lugares secos para que recupere potencia.
Without a doubt, this is a good buy to appease the attack of mosquitoes and protect everyone at home. And it's pretty inexpensive too, costing around $6 only.
