Hola familias y amigos de Hive. Yo pensé que para estos días yo estaría escribiendo muy feliz sobre un gran viaje y un gran encuentro, pues resulta que nos estábamos preparando para viajar a Maracaibo a encontrarnos con la familia de mi esposo por el gran motivo de asistir a una fiesta de 15 años de una sobrina de él que además es nuestra ahijada.
Hi, Hive families and friends. I thought that these days I would be very happy writing about a great trip and a great meeting, it turns out that we were preparing to travel to Maracaibo to meet my husband's family for the great reason of attending a party for the 15th birthday of a niece of our goddaughter.
Desde diciembre nos estábamos preparando para este viaje y ahora cuando ya debíamos salir resulta que el carro presenta una avería, actuamos positivamente y solo decidimos posponer el viaje por un día, de modo que viajaríamos el mismo día de la fiesta, porque el día que inicialmente planeabamos salir se tomó para realizar las reparaciones al vehículo.
We had been preparing for this trip since December and now when we were due to leave the car broke down, we acted positively and only decided to postpone the trip for one day, so that we would travel the same day as the party because the day we had initially planned to leave was taken to carry out repairs to the vehicle.
Pues ya terminando la tarde y resuelta la supuesta falla, ahora resulta que al parecer lo que estaban reparando no era lo correcto, o tal vez hay más de una falla, no lo sé, pero ya tuvimos que tomar la decisión de no viajar.
Well, by the end of the afternoon and the supposed fault was resolved, now it turns out that the car is working, but apparently what they were repairing was not the right thing, or maybe there is more than one fault, I don't know, but we had to take the decision not to travel.
Nos esperaba un encuentro así
Para el momento que estoy escribiendo esto escucho truenos, veo relámpagos muy suaves porque apenas el atardecer está cayendo dejando venir la noche, me pregunto si ¿tal vez es un aviso de cuidarnos de la carretera por las fuertes lluvias que están ocurriendo estos días?. Tampoco lo sé.
By the time I am writing this, I hear thunder, I see very soft lightning because the dusk is just falling letting the night come, I wonder if maybe it is a warning to take care of the road because of the heavy rains that are occurring these days? I don't know either.
Este viaje era tan ideal, los chicos ya están de vacaciones, dos de los niños tuvieron sus actos de promoción a otra etapa, tuvieron un año genial y de verdad que quería iniciar estas vacaciones con este viaje.
This trip was so ideal, the kids are already on holiday, two of the children had their promotion acts to another stage, they had a great year and I wanted to start this holiday with this trip.
Por otra parte, ¡toda la mitad del año planeando el encuentro en esta fiesta de 15 años! Adriana la cumpleañera, como ya les conté es sobrina de mi esposo y también nuestra ahijada, es la hija menor del hermano menor de mi esposo, por quienes por supuesto sentimos un amor muy especial, por ellos, mi comadre y nuestras otras dos sobrinas hijos de ellos.
On the other hand, we spent half the year planning to meet at this 15th birthday party! Adriana the birthday girl, as I already told you, is my husband's niece and also our goddaughter, she is the youngest daughter of my husband's younger brother, for whom of course we feel a very special love, together with my comadre and our other two nieces, their children.
Por un tiempo esta familia nuestra estuvo viviendo en Chile por algunos años, regresaron cerca de la navidad pasada y al vernos en esa oportunidad nos prometimos no perder ocasión de reencontrarnos y compartir los momentos más especiales, ya que están más cerca.
For a while this family of ours was living in Chile for some years, they came back around Christmas time and when we saw each other on that occasion we promised ourselves not to miss the chance to meet again and share the most special moments, since they are closer.
De verdad todos soñábamos en casa con estar con ellos este día, y vuelvo a preguntarme, si todo estaba previsto, ¿por qué pasan estas cosas?. Sé que debo agradecer que no ha ocurrido nada que lamentar realmente y que debo tener confianza en que nos sobraran momentos de compartir.
We were all really looking forward to being with them on this day, and I ask myself again if everything was planned, why do these things happen? I know I should be thankful that nothing happened and that I should be confident that we will have plenty of moments to share.
En Maracaibo también nos esperaba la madre de mi esposo y dos de sus otros hermanos, es decir, de sus 4 hermanos, tres viven en Maracaibo. También tengo otros familiares por mi parte a quienes me encanta ver y con quienes me quiero poner al día de tantos meses sin vernos.
My husband's mother and two of his other siblings were also waiting for us in Maracaibo, that is to say, three of his four siblings live in Maracaibo. I also have other relatives on my side who I love to see and with whom I want to catch up after so many months without seeing each other.
Estar un tiempo en la casa donde crecí de niña y encontrarla aún tan linda, bien cuidada y con gran armonía como me ha pasado en otros viajes anteriores es algo que también anhelo de cuando comienzo a planear volver a Maracaibo de visita.
To spend some time in the house where I grew up as a child and to find it still as beautiful, well-kept, and in great harmony as it has been on previous trips is something I also long for when I start planning to return to Maracaibo for a visit.
Un recuerdo hermoso de mi casa de Maracaibo
Los momentos más placenteros de nuestros viajes son cuando llegamos y nos quedamos a dormir en casa del tercer hermano de mi esposo y nos reciben tan bonito, nos acomodan de lo más hospitalarios y además nos quedamos hasta la madrugada siempre conversando mi esposo, mi cuñado, su esposa que también es mi comadre y yo. Son momentos de oro.
The most pleasant moments of our trips are when we arrive and stay overnight at my husband's third brother's house they receive us so nicely, they accommodate us in the most hospitable way and we stay up until the early hours of the morning, always talking, my husband, my brother-in-law, his wife who is also my comadre and me. These are golden moments.
Espero que Adriana tenga un feliz cumpleaños y que toda la familia en la distancia lo pase hermoso.
I hope Adriana has a happy birthday and that the whole family in the distance has a wonderful time.
Bueno, por aquí sigo bastante resignada, pero mucho mejor de haber expresado mis sentimientos en relación con la nostalgia familiar tras esta desilusión y solo espero que muy, pero muy pronto ya estemos planeando la próxima salida a Maracaibo y ver en estos días las fotos de la hermosa quinceañera y sus padres y hermanas disfrutando esa celebración que tanto merecen como familia.
Well, I am still quite resigned, but much better for having expressed my feelings about family nostalgia after this disappointment and I only hope that very, very soon we will be planning the next trip to Maracaibo and see in these days the photos of the beautiful quinceañera and her parents and sisters enjoying the celebration that they deserve so much as a family.
