Hiiiii, madlang ka-hives! It's your girl again, Angel and I’ve got a story to share. I was a bridesmaid for the first time ever in my live , and let me tell you—it was a whole adventure because I didn't expect I'll be part of the big event! If you’re curious about what it's like to be part of a wedding entourage, I’m about to give you the lowdown so fasten your seatbelts hahah.
The Invitation and Prep
So this is what happened, my cousin asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, and I honestly didn’t know whether to scream or faint like oh my ghadd. I’ve been to weddings, but this was my first time actually in one. I was nervous about everything likeeee what if, what if I tripped on my dress? What if I forgot the steps? And honestly, I almost did both, haha!
We went with yellow for the theme because my cousin love the color yellow, and when I saw the dress, I instantly knew it was the one. Simple, elegant, but also kind of fun. And I think it fits me. We also had these cute yellow floral hairpieces and bracelets to match my ghadd matchy matchy hahaha. It all started coming together, and I was actually getting excited and nervous at the same time.
Wedding Day Jitters
I woke up on the wedding day with so many butterflies in my stomach. The pressure was on. I was like, 'Okay self, don’t mess up. Don’t trip. Don’t look awkward.' But when I got to the venue and I saw the other bridesmaids they're so beautiful, I felt way more chill. We were all in it together, which made me feel a little less stressed and I was like it's gonna be exciting.
Then the moment came. And I was like "My ghadd my heart is started raising". As we lined up to walk down the aisle, I thought, “This is it. Self please don’t mess this up!” I was shaking a little just little, but once I started walking together with my partner, the nerves melted away. Walking down the aisle with so many people watching at us was crazy, but the best part? Seeing my cousin, the bride, walking towards the altar. She looked like an absolute queen, and I couldn’t stop smiling.
Reception and Fun Moments
After the ceremony, of course we all headed to the reception—and that’s where the fun really kicked off! The food was amazing so delicious, the speeches were emotional and honestly I've cried, and the vibe was just perfect.
Then came the bouquet toss. I was ready, I was in it to win it, but guess what? Someone else grabbed it first. Honestly, I wasn’t even mad. Watching the chaos of the single ladies fighting for it was way more fun and exciting hahaha.
What I've Learned
Being a bridesmaid for the first time taught me a lot of things. First of all, weddings aren’t just about looking cute and taking pics. They’re about being there for the bride, making sure she’s having the best time of her life, and helping her with all the little things.
Second, it’s totally okay to feel nervous it's notmal. I was worried about everything, but once I let go of the nerves and just enjoyed all of it, I had a blast.
And lastly, weddings are so much about love and family and everything. Seeing my cousin surrounded by all the people who love her made me realize just how special these moments are hayss how I wish choss just joking I'm not ready yet I'll achieve my goals first.
Final Thoughts
By the end of that night, I was just so happy. The wedding was gorgeous, my cousin was glowing myy ghadd pretty as always like me hahaha, and I had experienced something I’ll never forget.
If you’re ever a bridesmaid for the first time, just relax and have fun be calm always. Don’t stress the little things. Take pictures, laugh a lot, and be there for the bride always.
Thanks for reading my blog, and I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my first bridesmaid experience. Until next time, madlang ka-hives!
