Y mira que tenía razón. Ya de adulta, he venido a comprender que cada juglar ha de seguir su camino y el querer se elonga hasta donde estén, no importa la distancia.
Las calles de mi hermoso Camagüey/Cuba, me devuelven por cada adoquín, el recuerdo febril de algún familiar o amigo ausente.
Hay un cantautor cubano muy reconocido, llamado Gerardo Alfonso, que escribió una canción hermosa de esas que uno piensa "debí haberla escrito yo". Hoy quiero regalársela a una amiga, porque es especial y porque sí. Se titula "Mis amigos"

Hay amistades que nacen como si ya hubieran estado ahí desde siempre. Que se convierten en parte de tu casa, de tu familia, de tu rutina, de tus canciones. Que saben cuándo aparecer, cuándo abrazar, cuándo callar o cuándo celebrar contigo.
Hoy queremos hablar de una de esas amistades que la vida nos regaló, y que el tiempo y la distancia no han hecho más que fortalecer.
Hace unos días, una amiga me comentó uno de los Post que escribí para #topfamily y no puedo evitar compartirlo con ustedes, por el montón de sensaciones y lindos recuerdos de los días en los que su sonrisa era un sol en la llanura y el pasto se volvía cada vez más verde.
@yuraimatc —poetisa irreverente, mujer sensible pero imponente, la vikinga, la mambisa de Amancio, la voz inolvidable de la radio camagüeyana— fue durante años una presencia importante en nuestras vidas.
Apareció un buen día como guiño travieso, atrapándonos al instante con su carisma y su manera de ser tan espontánea.
Compañera de cada proyecto, de cada tertulia, activista natural de la trova y de la poesía.
De sonrisa amplia, contagiosa... de silencio cómplice y apoyo incondicional.
Compartimos el amor por el arte, por la palabra, por la canción sincera. El arte, fue el punte que unió nuestros caminos, pero lo que nos mantuvo unidos fue la complicidad profunda que nace de la empatía, del respeto y de la alegría compartida.
Somos, como suelo llamarle, amigas cactus, de esas que no necesitan regarse todos los días porque sabemos que la vida es convulsa y lleva sus demandas, pero estamos seguras de que nuestra amistad sigue allí, floreciendo, a pesar del sol, los kilómetros y la sequía.
En nuestras memorias, en nuestras fotos, en los juegos de nuestros hijos que la nombran como su avejita Maya, allí está y va a estar siempre, al alcance de una llamada, de mensaje....y Dios mediente, segura estoy que algún día, también de la mano.
La vida, nos ha demostrado que hay amistades que no entienden de fronteras ni de ausencias. Que sobreviven al paso del tiempo y los océanos. Que no se debilitan con la distancia, sino que se fortalecen porque están hechas de verdad. De esas cosas que no se ven, pero que se sienten con el alma.
Ojalá la vida nos regale pronto el reencuentro, ese abrazo pendiente, esa nueva foto juntas, bien apretados como antaño solía ser.
Hasta entonces, seguimos aquí: cantando, recordando, esperando que vuelva a retumbar el tren de media noche, para repasar cada vagón con la mirada...con la fe de encontrarnos, algún día, con la alegría del retorno.

There are friendships that are born as if they had always been there forever. That they become part of your house, your family, your routine, your songs. Who know when to appear, when to hug, when to be silent or when to celebrate with you.
Today we want to talk about one of those friendships that life gave us, and that time and distance have only strengthened.
A few days ago, a friend told me about one of the Posts I wrote for #topfamily and she couldn't help but share it with you, because of the many sensations and beautiful memories of the days when her smile was a sun on the plain and the grass became increasingly greener.
@yuraimatc—irreverent poet, sensitive but imposing woman, the Viking, the mambisa of Amancio, the unforgettable voice of Camagüey radio—was for years an important presence in our lives.
He appeared one day as a mischievous wink, instantly capturing us with his charisma and his spontaneous way of being. Companion to every project, every gathering, natural activist of trova and poetry.
With a wide, contagious smile... with complicit silence and unconditional support. We share a love for art, for words, for sincere songs.
Art was the bridge that united our paths, but what kept us united was the deep complicity that is born from empathy, respect and shared joy.

We are, as I usually call them, cactus friends, the kind that don't need to be watered every day because we know that life is turbulent and has its demands, but we are sure that our friendship is still there, blooming, despite the sun, the kilometers and the drought.
In our memories, in our photos, in the games of our children who name her after their little bird Maya, she is there and she will always be, within reach of a call, a message... and God willing, I am sure that one day, also by the hand.
Life has shown us that there are friendships that do not understand borders or absences. That survive the passage of time and the oceans. That do not weaken with distance, but rather become stronger because they are truly made. One of those things that are not seen, but that are felt with the soul.
I hope life soon gives us the reunion, that pending hug, that new photo together, tight as it used to be.
Until then, we are still here: singing, remembering, waiting for the midnight train to rumble again, to review each carriage with our gaze... with the faith of finding ourselves, one day, with the joy of return.
