Back when I was in my first-ever job, I developed a deep friendship with a colleague. We would spend a lot of time together... and I mean, A LOT. We ate dinners together, spent weekends together. There was even a point when I started bringing an "emergency kit" with me with my underwear and toiletries inside because we never knew whether I would end up sleeping at their place or she in ours. We were soooo clingy to each other!
Then one day, I decided to move to Metro Manila, where my family was at.
This was such a big decision for me, 'cause I knew I would be leaving some people and opportunities in my hometown, yet I pushed through it.
First few months away was okay... but as time passed by, our friendship naturally changed. We talked less, updated each other lesser... until one day, we just stopped even greeting each other during holidays or special occasions. I was heartbroken at first but later on taught myself to accept what happened.
Life went on... years passed by... and for some reason, we reconnected.
We met when she visited Metro Manila and when I visited Cebu.

At first, part of me honestly felt awkward, not wanting to mess anything up. But eventually, we went back to how we were, as if nothing really happened. If there were changes, I can say that they were good kind of changes. :)
I am deeply grateful and happy that we were able to save the beautiful friendship we once had, and I hope this will continue to flourish even more.

Stay sane and safe!
Let's spread happiness.
