Done are the days that we attend debut parties, we are now down to christenings and weddings, what a major adulting leap indeed. It is undeniable that we are never getting any younger.
Just recently, we attended the wedding of my best friend which was held at San Juan Nepomuceno Parish Church, a church in San Remigio where his wife's hometown is.
San Juan Nepomuceno Parish Church
The wedding was set to start at 9:30 am and we arrived approximately ten minutes before it started. From Tuburan, we set our alarms at 6:30 am and did our early-morning preparations and arrived just quite before the ceremony started.
The bride, the groom which is my best friend, my partner and I. When we arrived, it was the same time as when the bride and groom arrived also so we got the perfect picture at the church entrance. After we took a couple of photos, we then went in the church while they waited outside for the ceremony to start.
The wedding ceremony started at 9:30 am and seeing my best friend walked in the aisle accompanied by his parents made me so proud of him. Finally he has the courage to enter the marriage life and he will be building his own little family since his wife is also pregnant. How time flies so fast. We just used to talk about this and it finally is coming to life.
The priest just sermoned so many beautiful words about entering marriage life. One verse that the priest mentioned is Ephesians 5:25, which says, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." which is indeed just such a beautiful verse to live by especially for everyone who is planning to get married.
I know my best friend is such a responsible man, surely, he will take good care of his wife and their soon to be child and children to come. I am a living witness of how he puts others people's happiness before his own and how selfless he is. For sure their marriage will prosper.
After the wedding ceremony, we took turns to taking photos of the newlyweds, first is the newlyweds themselves, then the sponsors, the parents, families, and friends. After the ceremony we then headed to the bride's house.
Before lunch time, there was a short program where they did all the wedding norms and we were all there to participate and cheer on them. The best part was the money dance where the newlyweds danced and everyone pinned money on them. It is a Filipino wedding tradition that is practiced until now. It serves as a financial help to the newlyweds.
It was such a memorable day and I am so happy for the both of them, they finally found their soulmates, the ones they will live with for the rest of their lives.
To love and happiness! Ciao! ♡
