Greetings everyone,
How are you all, I hope you are doing well. Time passes very quickly, the year 2024 will end in just a few days.
Is everyone excited for the new year? I'm also excited about it, but right now I'm even more excited about Christmas. I am excited to see some of my family members who live far away.
In our family, there are also a few who go home when there are celebrations in the province. Even if not everyone makes it home, it's still fun when someone makes it and sees each other and can say hello and talk about life.
Last weekend I was lucky to be home because I was off work and the timing also happened to be my grandmother's death anniversary. Without a second thought, I went to the mountain to celebrate the memory of her death day.
It turned out that I was happy to see my aunts who came home from their home in the city. This and you can see that they are preparing what will be used for the little food that we will share later that day.
this was my old grandparents house way back October 2021 when it was knocked down by the typhoon Oddette. I took this photo from my old phone few days after I visited.
Since it was valuable to the family it was rebuilt by my fortunate aunt. It’s kind of modern but the old pillars is still there.
If you don’t know we Filipino we were celebrating the death day of our loved one. We go to their graves and do prayers there and at home, we also offer food on the altar and pray for the glory of the spirit.
Maybe nowadays not everyone still do these and maybe the method is different but we still follow the tradition of the elders, especially on the day of the death of our late grandparents.
Anyway, while they were busy getting ready, I was also busy going around and as you know I also love gardening, I also took pictures of my uncle's crops to show you and I also saw some wild guavas for snack because they are in season now.
My uncle's garden is very beautiful. When there is no viand, they already have a resource to get food to prepare. Those you can see crawling on the trellis with yellow flowers are sponge gourds, there are a lot of them. Some of his crops are eggplants, tomatoes, bitter gourds and some others that I haven't captured.
And that's all for now. After that, I was busy helping with the preparations, so I didn't capture much good photos on the event. I hope you also enjoy my visit to my family on the mountains. 😊
Thank you for reading this far, I see you around. 🤗
