I’m hardly ever the most emotional person. In many situations, I tend to be much more distant from my emotions than most. However, I can’t help but feel elated in moments like these where I take a mental account of not my life but the lives of a few people I love.
In the past 9 years since I got into the Hive blockchain, I’ve been privileged to bring in a lot of people into the system. Many of them found solace in the earning capabilities of this platform and also found growth within themselves before they were forced to leave due to life’s activities.
I still talk to a lot of them and they all have stories to tell about how Hive came through for them at the point where everything seemed near impossible. Hive saved many lives and they can’t even deny it. For a lot of us, it was like magic money that came from doing basic things that we’d ordinarily do for free.
Unfortunately, life gets in the way of hobbies that pay and those that don’t. Many of them found great jobs, some decided to take their IRL hustle a lot more seriously, some relocated to different countries and others like myself still have some free time but tend to get caught up with life so we’re extremely unstable.
Regardless of what took us away, Hive is a huge part of our stories. It was a platform that helped a lot of us find some hidden talents that we’d never thought we’d explore. A hidden potential. I miss the simplicity of those times.
These days, whenever I get a little stable here, I locate the likes of @meyateingi and @young-tari and I can’t help but smile at how well they’re doing here. Their knowledge of the system has surpassed mine by a long haul and I was once their teacher and Hive mentor lol. It’s so thrilling to see them grow and surpass me.

I’m usually really sceptical when it comes to bringing people to Hive because it’s a platform I cherish. I know what it can do for a person who takes it seriously, I’m a constant beneficiary. So, taking the time to teach someone about the platform and then watching them treat it like BS tends to hurt my feelings a little because I know what you’re missing out on. The community, friendships, relationships and growth that can be gotten here aren’t to be taken lightly. They’re life-changing, to say the least.
I’m so pleased with how these girls picked up Hive and have been running with it ever since. Knowing them personally, alongside their stories, makes it extremely emotional for me as well. Their drive and consistency are inspiring, and I can’t wait to see what more life would have for them beyond this platform. I can’t wait to hear their story of how Hive influenced their lives and saved them as well. I’m excited at the thought of it and the prospects of their future beyond Hive.
The rate at which I hold Hive dear to my heart is the major reason why I can’t just leave entirely. I always come back. I might not write as much or interact with anyone but it’s a screen on my browser that stays open. I’m either moving money into the system or taking it out of it. Hive is like my bank that I just have to check into every moment. I might not be growing my reputation but I try to grow one of my wallets.
I hope many more people discover the potential here, and I hope the love that keeps people here never dies.
