Qué curioso es que cuando mejor te sientes o más piensas que estás mejorando, te consigues con un gran muro que te detiene. Así me siento ahora. Mi actividad ha estado algo mermada; tengo un dolor punzante en el hombro que me impide entrenar cómodamente. Si este deporte me ha enseñado algo, es que entrenar con dolor no es sano. Por lo mismo, me he tomado un tiempo para descansar de ese dolor. Con afán de recuperarme y sentirme mejor, he descansado, he realizado estiramientos de hombro y manguito rotador. También, por el aburrimiento, he trabajado mi flexibilidad en piernas. Incluso empecé a tomar creatina y glucosamina (compuesto que favorece el cuidado de las articulaciones), pero nada de esto parece funcionarme.
Fui a un CDI que queda cerca de mi casa. ¿Su respuesta? Terapias. Unas terapias que dudo mucho sirvan de algo. Literalmente, pasaron una máquina de ultrasonido por mi hombro y, esperando un diagnóstico, me dijeron que me harían ese ultrasonido diario. Me dio un poco de risa; no pensé que eso funcionaría así, pero debo intentarlo. Parece más un masaje que algo que de verdad esté funcionando. Sin embargo, debo seguir intentando.

It's funny how when you feel the best or think you're getting better, you get a big wall that stops you. That's how I feel right now. My activity has been somewhat diminished; I have a shooting pain in my shoulder that prevents me from training comfortably. If this sport has taught me anything, it's that training with pain is not healthy. For the same reason, I have taken some time to rest from that pain. In an effort to recover and feel better, I have rested, stretched my shoulder and rotator cuff. Also, out of boredom, I have worked on my leg flexibility. I even started taking creatine and glucosamine (a joint care compound), but none of this seems to be working for me.
I went to a CDI near my house. Their answer? Therapies. Therapies that I very much doubt will do any good. They literally ran an ultrasound machine over my shoulder and, hoping for a diagnosis, told me they would do this daily ultrasound. It gave me a bit of a chuckle; I didn't think that would work like that, but I have to give it a try. It sounds more like a massage than something that is actually working. However, I have to keep trying.
Bro, pensé que estaría en mi mejor momento, mi tan esperado prime, ¿y surge este dolor? ¡COÑO! Es frustrante. ¿Todos los deportes son así? Esto me tiene triste y desmotivado, pero no derrotado.
Debo mencionar que estoy de vacaciones del trabajo y la universidad, por tanto pensé que serían las semanas que más estaría activo tanto con mis entrenamientos como con Hive. ¡Y qué golpe me di cuando supe que no sería así! Qué fuerte. Pero en estos momentos solo me da risa que todo esto pase. La ansiedad me tiene comiendo como cerdo y también durmiendo mucho. Me siento un niño otra vez. Ya no sé qué hacer para mejorarme, pero me dedicaré a seguir así: comer bien, dormir bien y cuidar mi hombro. Es lo que me queda y, si sigo así, debo mejorar.
Solo les dejo esto a los que lean hasta aquí: entrenen con conciencia, aprendan, crezcan en el deporte no solo con su cuerpo, también con su mente. Una lesión puede impactar mucho más que en tus entrenamientos, así que evítenlo. ¿Cómo? Estirando, comiendo bien, descansando correctamente y, sobre todo, haciendo las cosas inteligentemente. Bro, I thought I would be in my prime, my long awaited prime, and this pain comes up, FUCK! It's frustrating, are all sports like this? This has me sad and unmotivated, but not defeated.
I should mention that I'm on vacation from work and college, so I thought it would be the weeks I would be most active with both my training and Hive. And what a shock I got when I found out it wouldn't be! What a shock. But right now it just makes me laugh that it's all happening. The anxiety has me eating like a pig and also sleeping a lot. I feel like a kid again. I don't know what to do to get better, but I'm going to stick with it: eat well, sleep well and take care of my shoulder. That's what I have left and, if I keep it up, I should get better.
