Goodmorning everyone,
As we are entering into the month of August we are currently entering the time when rain suppose to be seizing little by little but it seems we are going to be having more rain than before because where i am is part of the state that will experience more rainfall.
So last week we planted maize with the hope that the rain will help during this period when it will germinate and grow well. To our surprise the birds uprooted the seedlings and remove the maize underneath.
We thought of what to do inorder to stop the birds from destroying our maize again. So we cut a small trees but not heavy ones let me say leaves to cover the surface of the ridges made.
After cutting the leaves we replanted the maize again and cover the ridges up with the leaves and this methods is just to cover the root and the seedlings ftom the birds.
We would have use scared crow but it seems the birdsvare getting wiser even they will fly on the scared crow we made. Something that suppose to scared them now becoming a place they land on and watch which ridges to eat from.
With this method i will watch and see what happens to it and i give uou more update on the maize and the birds.
