If you are a Christian who believes in the Second Coming of Christ, then this message may interest you, otherwise you will find a fable of what the Lord Jesus taught his disciples about living expectantly in relation to his Second Coming to Earth.
Get comfortable and review with me the parable of the ten virgins in which the Lord Jesus spoke saying:
Matthew 25: 1-13 New King James Version (RVR1960)
1 Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who, taking their lamps, went out to receive the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were prudent and five foolish. 3 Fools who took their lamps did not carry oil with them; 4 But the prudent took oil in their vessels, along with their lamps. 5 And when the husband was late, they all slept and fell asleep. 6 And at midnight a cry was heard: "Here comes the bridegroom; go meet him! 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the fools said to the prudent: Give us your oil; for ours are the Lamps go out.9 But the prudent responded, saying, That we and you might not be lacking, rather go to those who sell and buy for yourselves.10 But while they were going to buy, the husband came and those who were ready entered with him to the wedding, and the door was closed.11 Then the other virgins also came, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us! 12 But he answered and said: Truly I tell you, I do not know you. you know the day or the hour in which the Son of Man will come.
If you have already read with me, then I can ask you: With which of the virgins can you compare yourself? Maybe I will say, with the prudent and if you are not sure, you could say with the fools.
The spiritual condition of virgins reveals the spiritual condition of the Lord's church today. There are believers who need a lot of oil, just as there are believers who by their constant search for God have an oil that overflows in the engine of their heart. Oil always symbolizes the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and where the Holy Spirit is, the word there says "freedom."
We constantly need to be free from the hoops and yokes of the world. We need to continually break with all the oppressions with which the enemy wants to keep us tied with the things of the world, this can only be achieved with the anointing oil, which is through the Holy Spirit.
The five wise virgins were well aware of this spiritual authority, and this led them to keep their lamps filled with oil. You realize, dear reader, who visits my blog, the great importance of being prudent like these five virgins. The parable says that when the bridegroom's voice was heard, the only ones who were prepared to receive him and participate in the weddings with him were the wise virgins.
This is what the Lord's church needs today, believers who seek with interest and great passion to fill their soul, heart, mind, and spirit; with the word of God and being believers who love unity and remain in harmony with the commission initiated by the Lord Jesus to preach the Gospel throughout the world.
What happened to the foolish virgins? They simply stayed, because they were not actually filled with the anointing oil, that is, the Holy Spirit. Insanity led to carelessness, and they were not interested in continually filling the presence of God. The result of this neglect was regret and crying, because when they knocked to open the door, it was too late.
You realize, dear reader, that if we do not take the matter of serving God as something very serious, this can cause us pain, sadness, suffering, crying and the final separation from our God.
The best thing of all is to prepare ourselves as the prudent virgins, "because we do not know the day or the hour in which the Son of Man will come".
