The Lord wants his people to be reasonable in faith, not to be ignorant of the great salvation that God has prepared for them. People shouldn't think about what's to come and hope that sometime in the future great work will be done for them, because it has already been done. No one asks the believer to reconcile himself to God, and he can never do it himself.
Each one must accept Christ as his world, because with Christ man wins both God and peace. Christ put an end to sin by carrying His painful curse on His body, raised on the tree; and He removes the curse from all who believe in Him as their personal Savior. Jesus puts an end to the power of sin in the heart of man, and the life and character of the believer testify to the true character of Christ's grace.
Jesus endows those who ask with the Holy Spirit, because it is necessary for all believers to be cleansed from contamination, as well as from the curse and condemnation of the law. Under the influence of the Holy Spirit, through sanctification by the truth, the believer becomes worthy of heaven, since Christ works in us and we are in the robe of his righteousness. Without this, no soul has a right to heaven. That is why we cannot enjoy heaven unless we are prepared for its holy atmosphere by the influence of the Spirit and the righteousness of Christ.
To be worthy of heaven, we must meet the requirements of the Law:
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself" (Luke 10:27).
We can be worthy of heaven only by joining by faith the righteousness of Christ. Looking at Jesus, we find in our hearts a living and growing source; The Holy Spirit does his work in us and the believer passes from grace to grace, from strength to strength, from character to character. He is transformed into the image of Christ until finally in his spiritual growth he reaches the measure of full age in Christ Jesus, thus ending the curse of sin and releasing the believing soul from its action and influence.
