John 16:33
33 These things I have spoken to you so that you may have peace in me. In the world you will have affliction; But trust me, I have conquered the world.
(RVR1960)
Many people do not know the word of God and in the midst of their afflictions they feel hopeless, others who read the scriptures and know this verse sometimes forget about it but I think we should reflect on its context in a deeper way.
Even in the midst of persecution, affliction, or any adversity, there is joyful peace in the certainty of Christ's victory. God has promised to give us victory in the midst of problems but first we must assume that we live in a world distorted because of sin where we continually face
all kinds of pain, grief, suffering, crying, loss and despair.
However, when we have God as our hope, we must interpret that only in Jesus do we have the peace that we need in the midst of pain or affliction because he said: ... these things I have spoken so that you may have peace in me.
In this way it is understood that Jesus Christ in addition to being our savior is the giver of our peace only he can deposit it in our hearts.
