For if people do these things when the tree is green,
what will happen when it is dry?”

Luke 23:27-31New International Version (NIV)
27 A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. 28 Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ 30 Then “‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’[a ]31 For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
This passage tells me something, Dad, but I don't understand what it has to do with me.
The truth today I have read chapter 23 three times and always dwell on this passage because I perceive in these 5 verses, so I will continue to ponder what I can understand and discern.
The real meaning of the passage is framed in the prophecy of Christ that we will suffer together with him. Jesus' proclamation for future times is a life lesson that alludes to the heart's intention of the wicked.
I understand you instruct me about what I can expect from men in general for this time and those who are to come.
I note that this teaching I have to apply to my life in order to properly focus on attitudes towards those who do not believe that Jesus is the Lord and Savior.
Thanks Dad, I finally got it.
