It has been some wet and windy weather in Australia over the last week and a bit... something about a cold "bomb" that was coming in... a really low pressure system or something. I wasn't really paying that much attention as we were swamped in music work. And that meant that I hadn't noticed that this area of gutter covering had been worked loose... no doubt by those vandal cockatoos... and that means that there is going to be a poopload of leaves and debris in this corner of the gutter... which is actually one of the main drainage points for the water coming out of the roof valley!
However, despite the sky looking nice and clear... it is still cold, wet, and windy... and I'm just not going to go up on the roof to fix it up. Of course, it will probably be okay... I would be on my butt whilst fixing it up, but it is an unnecessary risk that can wait till better weather. And my wife won't let me go up anyway. But like all stupid men... I did just pop up briefly whilst she was practicing the piano to clear out the roof valley... that is more annoying to me... al the silt and debris that builds up there and then likely channels water into our roof-space.
When the weather is better, I should also cover up the valley with some sort of gutter guard as well.

I have no idea why the bloody cockatoos have such a fondness for this section of the gutter guards. They are always ripping out this section, and never any other section... but that said, I probably should just check to see if it is something else that keeps systemically popping out these ones. I suspect the cockatoos just because the mesh is also chewed up... whereas if it was the water flow popping them out, it shouldn't shred the mesh.
Still... something to look at later... when it is definitely safe to be up on the roof again! And perhaps warmer as well...
