Since I was very young, DIY and decoration programs caught my attention, and that's where all my passion comes from, not only for crafts, but for anything I can create with my hands to decorate my home.
That's why this new initiative of Home Solutions comes as a perfect fit for me, not only to show the little things I've done at home, but to take some ideas from their publications, which was the intention of launching it, that we can all have access to a good bank of information and tips to decorate our home.
So do not be surprised that later on, I will appear here showing my version of some of their creations, as I did recently with my beautiful piece of discs for the wall based on an idea of one of our faithful Bloggers in the community, @natica83, and that is just one of the pieces that I share with you today.
A craft with useful material, starting from vinyl records that had years stored at home, and some images from magazines, which I glued on the wall of my living room to fill an empty space, as well as cover some details that had the wall.
Another of my favorite pieces is a side table that many years ago I gave a radical change with the decoupage technique, which is nothing more than covering a surface with napkins, paper or fabrics, with the help of white glue, diluted with a small amount of water.
In this case the napkins were printed by me, with retro images, from magazine or TV commercials that caught my attention, and adhered to the wood with the help of a good amount of glue that has served as protection all these years.
On the other side is the wall that leads to my kitchen. I think it is at the top of my favorite creations, and I could say that it is a mural, with decoupage technique, since I incorporated words in different languages related to the kitchen all over the wall.
What makes it great for me is the mix of materials I used, because some words are made with magazine sheets, and others painted directly on the wall with cold paint, and for that what I did was to print each word on the magazine sheets, and after cutting them out, some I put them with glue, and others I simply used them to mark the silhouette and then paint them on the wall.
No doubt they have all been quite laborious projects, but if I had to do them again, I would gladly do it, because I love the character they give to my home, besides making me smile every time I see them.
And as I still have many things to show, it is very likely that I will come later with a new participation, focused mostly on the DIY area, especially with wood, so stay tuned, so you can discover everything that can be done from home with a little creativity.
Desde muy jovencita los programas de bricolaje y decoración llamaron mi atención, y de ahí nace toda mi pasión, no solo por las manualidades, sino por cualquier cosa que pueda crear con mis manos para decorar mi hogar.
Es por eso que esta nueva iniciativa de Home Solutions me viene como anillo al dedo, no solo para mostrar las cositas que he hecho en casa, sino para tomar algunas ideas de sus publicaciones, que en principio fue la intención al lanzarla, que todos podamos tener acceso a un buen banco de información y tips para decorar nuestro hogar.
Así que no les extrañe que más adelante, aparezca por aquí mostrando mi versión de algunas de sus creaciones, como hice hace poco con mi hermosa pieza de discos para la pared partiendo de una idea de una de nuestras fieles Bloggers en la comunidad, @natica83, y es justo esa una de las piezas que les comparto hoy.
Una manualidad con material de provecho, partiendo de discos de vinilo que tenían años guardados en casa, y algunas imágenes de revistas, los cuales pegué en la pared de mi sala para llenar un espacio vacío, además cubrir algunos detalles que tenía la pared.
Otra de mis piezas favoritas es una mesita auxiliar a la que hace muchos años le di un cambio radical con la técnica de decoupage, que no es otra cosa que cubrir una superficie con servilletas, papel o telas, con la ayuda de pega blanca, diluida con una pequeña cantidad de agua.
En este caso las servilletas fueron impresas por mí, con imágenes retro, de comerciales de revistas o TV que llamaron muchísimo mi atención, y adheridas a la madera con la ayuda de una buena cantidad de pega que le ha servido de protección todos estos años.
Por otro lado, se encuentra la pared que conduce a mi cocina. Creo que ella está de primera en el top de mis creaciones preferidas, y podría decir que se trata de un mural, con técnica de decoupage, ya que en toda la pared incorporé palabras en distintos idiomas relacionados con la cocina.
Lo que para mí la hace genial es la mezcla de materiales que utilicé, porque algunas palabras están hechas con hojas de revistas, y otras pintadas directo en la pared con pintura al frío, y para eso lo que hice fue imprimir cada palabra en las hojas de revista, y después de recortadas, unas las coloqué con pega, y otras simplemente las usé para marcar la silueta y pintarlas luego en la pared.
Sin duda todos han sido proyectos bastante laboriosos, pero si me toca volver a hacerlos, con gusto lo haría, porque amo el carácter que le imprimen a mi hogar, además de hacerme sonreír cada vez que las veo.
Y como aún tengo muchas cosas que mostrar, es muy probable que venga más adelante con una nueva participación, enfocada más que todo al área del bricolaje, en especial con madera, así que estén atentos, para que descubran todo lo que se puede hacer, desde casa con un poquito de creatividad.
