¿Cuántas veces hemos visto alguna revista, programa de TV, o incluso pinterest, y hemos pensado "me encantaría que mi casa se vea así "? Confieso que me pasa muchísimo, y la verdad no es algo nuevo, pero sí es la primera vez que acciono para que las cosas sucedan y aunque no es algo que se pueda lograr de la noche a la mañana, ni una tarea súper fácil, tampoco es misión imposible como muchos pensarían.
Y si son de los que siguen mi blog, deben haber notado que estoy trabajando de manera constante en casa para lograr el cambio que deseo, y aunque hasta ahora los cambios han sido a nivel decorativo y de diseño de interiores estoy feliz con lo que he podido hacer, porque son justo esas pequeñas cosas las que logran marcar la diferencia, y me hacen sonreír cuando las veo, y lo mejor de todo es que son cosas que perfectamente puedes hacer en casa.
Por ahora voy trabajando de manera simultánea en varios espacios, y ya les he mostrado casi todas las cosas que ido haciendo, pero también hay muchas que no he compartido, y el propósito de este post, es mostrarte cómo con poco, puedes hacer mucho, solo debes hacer dos cosas.
1. Define tu estilo
Comenzaremos por escoger el estilo o tendencia de diseño que queremos en casa, y creo que esa ha sido la parte más difícil para mí pues hay muchísimos realmente hermosos y que llaman mi atención, pero mi idea el año pasado era escoger el que más me gustara, tomando en consideración dos cosas: que aportara calidez, pero también mucho carácter.
Y creo que estas dos cosas pueden ir perfectamente de la mano, solo tenemos que leer un poco, para descubrir cómo lograr lo que queremos en casa, y partiendo de ahí ponernos en acción.
2. Elabora tu plan de acción
El siguiente paso sería ver con qué contamos, no solo a nivel monetario, sino mirando a nuestro alrededor para descubrir qué podemos reutilizar para transformar y darles una segunda oportunidad que se adapte a nuestro propósito y estilo, y la verdad este paso no es para nada complicado, aunque muchos puedan pensar que lo es.
En mi caso como saben me he dedicado a buscar ideas en pinterest y esto la verdad me ha ayudado muchísimo, y aunque no podamos desarrollar los proyectos tal cual los vemos, estoy más que segura que con un poco de ingenio y creatividad podemos lograr algo muy parecido y que se adapte a nuestro estilo, y para que me entiendan de qué les hablo les muestro un poco lo que he ido haciendo.
"Nuevos" envases de cocina para la harina, arroz, azúcar y sal, y escribo nuevos entre comillas porque son los mismos que tengo hace mucho tiempo, pero que fueron transformados, y como pueden ver, ya no lucen como la última vez que se los mostré, ya que decidí pintarlos todos de blanco, retirar las etiquetas que había hecho tomando como modelo unas que vi en la web, así que diseñé las mías y listo. Solo gasté 1,5$ en la pintura al frío blanca, 1,5$ en las impresiones y 2$ en el "finishcolor acrílico", que me ha rendido muchísimo, al igual que la pintura.
Reutilicé envases de vidrio, tazas, cestas, trozos de madera vieja, y cuanta cosita se puedan imaginar, no solo para decorar y dar el estilo que deseo a mi hogar, sino que he dado utilidad a cosas que no la tenían, creando macetas, porta utensilios, tarros de cocina, bandejas, cuadros, etc. La gran mayoría a partir de cosas que ya tenía en casa y que fueron transformadas con pintura y algo de creatividad.
Y es cierto que aún me faltan muchas cosas por hacer para llegar a lo que yo deseo, pero cada uno de estos pequeños cambios me mantiene enfocada y motivada, y espero motivarte a ti también a soñar con el hogar que deseas y ponerte manos a la obra, porque definitivamente es mucho lo que podemos lograr con cosas que tenemos en casa.

And if you follow my blog, you must have noticed that I am constantly working at home to achieve the change I want, and although so far the changes have been at a decorative and interior design level I am happy with what I have been able to do, because it is just those little things that make a difference, and make me smile when I see them, and best of all is that they are things that you can perfectly do at home.
For now I am working simultaneously in several spaces, and I have already shown you almost all the things I have been doing, but there are also many that I have not shared, and the purpose of this post, is to show you how with little, you can do a lot, you just have to do two things.
1. Define your style
We will start by choosing the style or design trend we want at home, and I think that has been the most difficult part for me because there are so many really beautiful ones that call my attention, but my idea last year was to choose the one I liked the most, taking into consideration two things: that it brings warmth, but also a lot of character.
And I think these two things can go perfectly hand in hand, we just have to read a little, to discover how to achieve what we want at home, and from there we can take action.
2. Elaborate your action plan
The next step would be to see what we have, not only at a monetary level, but looking around us to discover what we can reuse to transform and give them a second chance to suit our purpose and style, and the truth is that this step is not at all complicated, although many may think it is.
In my case as you know I have been looking for ideas on pinterest and this has really helped me a lot, and although we can not develop the projects as we see them, I am more than sure that with a little ingenuity and creativity we can achieve something very similar and that suits our style, and to understand what I'm talking about I show you a little of what I've been doing.
"New" kitchen containers for flour, rice, sugar and salt, and I write new in quotation marks because they are the same ones I have had for a long time, but they were transformed, and as you can see, they no longer look like the last time I showed them to you, since I decided to paint them all white, remove the labels I had made taking as a model some I saw on the web, so I designed my own and that's it. I only spent $1.5 on the white cold paint, $1.5 on the prints and $2 on the "acrylic finishcolor ", which has worked great for me, as has the paint.
I reused glass containers, cups, baskets, pieces of old wood, and every little thing you can imagine, not only to decorate and give the style I want to my home, but I have given usefulness to things that had none, creating pots, utensil holders, kitchen jars, trays, paintings, etc.. Most of them from things I already had at home and that were transformed with paint and some creativity.
And it is true that I still have many things to do to get to what I want, but each of these small changes keeps me focused and motivated, and I hope to motivate you too to dream of the home you want and get down to work, because there is definitely a lot we can achieve with things we have at home.
