Since this spring, I've been renting a Kleingarten—a small plot in community garden. On the way to my plot, there are blackberry bush. According to a friend who rents the neighboring plot, she’s pretty much the only one who picks them. So recently, every time I visit my garden, I come home with a full container.
I had been freezing them for smoothies, but since last week temperatures in Germany have barely gone above 20°C, I decided to bake a cake instead. I used the same batter as the plum cake I made recently, but this time I poured it into a round pan and simply placed blackberries on top before baking.
I'm not particularly skilled at baking, and I prefer simple desserts that aren’t too sweet—so this kind of effortless one suits me just right. Despite being easy, it’s surprisingly delicious thanks to fruits in the season 😁
The apples in the garden are almost ready to harvest, too. I’d love to try this batter with apples next and hopefully share the recipe with you soon on Hive Blog.

今年の春からドイツ版市民農園こと「Kleingarten」を借りています。市民農園の敷地に入って、自分の区画に向かう途中にブラックベリーがわさわさなっています。隣の区画を借りている友人いわく、このブラックベリーをとるのは彼女くらいということで、このところ、行くたびにタッパーいっぱいもらってきています。
スムージー用に冷凍していたものの、先週からドイツは気温が20度ちょっとまでしか上がらず、ケーキにすることにしました。先日プラムのケーキを焼いたのと同じ生地を今度は丸型に流して、その上にブラックベリーをのせてオーブンで焼くだけです。
私はお菓子作りがそこまで得意でないのと、シンプルに甘すぎないお菓子が好きなので、こんな感じの手軽なお菓子がちょうどよいです。簡単なわりにおいしいんですよ 😁
庭のりんごもそろそろ収穫期で、りんごでもこの生地のケーキを試して、近々レシピを書けたらと思っています。
