Hello rally fans :)!
After a small break that was caused for personal reasons I’m back again with a new post, with no more than Mārtiņš Sesks!
For many rally fans, Mārtiņš Sesks is already a familiar name, especially to those of us who follow the junior categories of the World Rally Championship (WRC). But now, thanks to the newly released documentary film “Debitants” (“The Rookie”), the wider public is getting a closer look at his incredible rise through the world of rallying.
The film had its official premiere in Riga, and those who showed up were all eager to witness the story of Latvia’s favorite man. Here is a trailer to this fantastic movie!
The full movie can be seen on tet.lv !
The movie dives into the emotional highs and lows of Mārtiņš’ career and the overall process, focusing especially on his breakthrough moments and the challenge of entering the WRC scene! With support from his codriver Renars Francis, the film shows the duo’s journey from local Latvian stages to the fierce international competition of world rallying🥹.
It’s unique how it captures the mindset of a young driver trying to prove himself not just with speed, but with resilience, discipline, and pure passion :). It highlights how difficult it is to break into such a demanding sport, especially coming from a small country with limited resources compared to the bigger WRC nations. Same is with WRC in Croatia and having @ssekulji representing our country makes me incredibly proud and even prouder to be able to be closely connected to all of it :).
One of the most powerful parts of “Debitants” is that it humanizes Mārtiņš. The audience gets to see the personal side of a professional athlete; the doubts, the sacrifices, the friendships, and the family support that holds it all together. It’s a story about chasing a dream, making mistakes, getting back up, and growing along the way.
Even if you’re not a rally fan, this documentary has something for everyone. It’s a story about ambition, courage, and not giving up, told through the lens of a young man chasing speed and success on the world’s toughest roads. Whether you follow WRC or not, you’ll walk away with a new appreciation for what it takes to make it in motorsport ;)!! Don’t take it lightly.
