This year had just started but there’s been some amazing news in the rally community. Mārtiņš Sesks has been turning heads in the rally world, and for good reason. After an outstanding debut in a Rally1 car with M-Sport’s Ford Puma last year, the young **Latvian driver is back with an expanded program for 2025!! He held a livestream through Facebook where he announced this wonderful news! **Mārtiņš left a strong impression and is known for his incredible pace and fearless driving style. He will tackle six events in the World Rally Championship this season, which is a a significant step forward in his career.
Last year, Sesks showed he’s got what it takes to compete at the highest level. His performance at his home rally - Rally Latvia was especially memorable for all of us. He was so close to claiming victory in front of his home crowd, but unfortunately, things didn’t go his way in the final stage. Still, his ability to battle at the top left everyone impressed and wanting more of him in the car. Even though he didn’t take the win, that performance alone proved he’s one to watch out for.
He attended a recent rally - Rally Alūksne, a round of the Latvian and Estonian rally championships, that was held in Latvia over the last weekend (10. 1. – 11. 1. 2025.). Sesks of course claimed victory by an impressive two and a half minutes over runner up!
**This year, Sesks will compete in six WRC events with M-Sport’s Rally1 teamc and those are: Sweden, Portugal, Sardinia, Greece, Estonia and Finland. **While I was hoping for more events, it’s still a fantastic opportunity for him to gain experience and continue to grow. M-Sport and the rest of his sponsors clearly believe in his potential, and this program will allow him to build on his jouurney and push himself even further.
Sesks himself has shown incredible confidence and competitiveness, even against much more experienced drivers. He’s proven he has the speed and determination to succeed, and now it’s all about consistency and adapting to the challenges of a full Rally1 program.
It’s exciting to think about what this year holds for Mārtiņš Sesks. This season could be a breakthrough for him. He’s already captured the attention of rally fans, and I have no doubt he’ll deliver some spectacular performances once again. It’s going to be aamazing watching him again on the stages.
