Hi, friends!
Italian Rally Champion Andrea Crugnola won 2nd round of their championship after beating Hyundai's works stars - Oliver Solberg and Craig Breen, while there were also competition with WRC cars, but they were competing outside of classification.
Craig Breen (Hyundai) was leading most of the rally and I know how good he can be when driving without pressure but there is something called time penalty if you enter into the timing control too late (when you get 10s per minute when being late) or or too early (one minute per every minute you are too early into the timing control).
Breen entered the time control one minute too late and he gor 10s penalty and finished 2nd overall.
I wrote numerous times about quality of Andrea Crugnola who drives for Hyundai this season after he was with the Citroen in 2020.
So the difference between Crugnola and Breen was only 5.2s. There was another great Italian driver - Fabio Andolfi who drives with Škoda Fabia Rally2. He was also inside of 10s and only 8s behind the winner Crugnola. That's another great thing about this Italian who could be a future star in theie championship.
Oliver Solberg retired on the 4th special stage where he broke his suspension and lost the rear wheel.
Thierry Neuville won the WRC competition ahead of Tanak while young Loubet finished 3rd with more then minute behind winner Neuvile.
