Good decision making plays a huge factor whether or not you're going to be successful in life.
Decisions are always there, we make hundreds, maybe even thousands of decisions every day, thousands of opportunities to change your life. For better or for worse our decisions make us who we are.
You don't have what you need to make a proper decision. The tricky part about making a decision is that in most cases, you're going to act based on incomplete, or even false or misleading information. And there is no way of knowing what to to listen to, and what to maybe ignore.
What's even more, choosing what information is relevant for a certain decision it's almost like having a decision-inside-a-decision. In order to decide where to go on vacation, you have to first decide what's the right travel agency to use(maybe). Do you see the problem with this?
In order to decide what to do, you need to decide what to trust first.
And the problem is that information is the very stuff that decisions are actually made of.
With wrong information you are going to make a bad decision; with incomplete or insufficient information, you are no longer making a decision, you are guessing.
You also don't know what will result out of a certain decision. Yes you're going to assume a lot of things and then you're going to act based on those assumptions -but will never know
After becoming successful in some areas of life, people find it very easy to backwards rationalize and deem as great a past decision they've made, just because they can now see the outcome of it.
But before reality unfolds, before things actually happen -in the absence of that information not knowing how things are going to develop, trying to predict the future seems like your only option.
Nobody can tell you, because it didn't happen yet. Good decisions are not validated by people, they are validated by reality.
There are five elements of good decision making but it's 1 am so... that's exactly what I'm going to write about tomorrow. :)
