[Art made by me]
Some man was really kind to me in the past and one day I encountered his son and decided to do his son a favour because of the kindness of his father. But after that, I started thinking, what if his dad was wicked to me, on encountering the son now would I have wanted to be wicked to the son too?
Of course I wouldn't want to, I already know how it would have played in my head if that boy's father had been wicked instead of kind. I would have told myself, this little son had nothing to do with what his father did to me, so I should leave him out of this. But as it was kindness why didn't I leave the son out of it too since the son had nothing to do with the kindness?
This reminds me of something else I've talked about before, I had asked: how can we keep from insulting people for their ugly physical features because they didn't create themselves when we're always praising them for their beautiful features which they didn't create either?
Many people are just like this too, it is more mainstream. People would quickly do you a favour to pay back for a favour your father or one of your people did for them, but they'll usually not be so quick to harm you because your father or one of your people did them a disfavor.
They'll usually tell you and keep reminding you that your dad or one of your people did them a disfavor but they wouldn't be so quick to repay the disfavour. But if it were a favour it's more common for them to try to repay it to you.
As for a person's looks, everyone knows how quick we are to praise a person and throw compliments. We'll open our mouths, put both hands on our head and shout how beautiful/stunning a person is. But if the person was ugly we'll most likely hear that you shouldn't tell a person they're ugly, messed up, etc. You'll hear that they didn't create themselves and it isn't their fault they are this messed up.
When they're good looking it isn't their fault either but no one says so, we just run in and compliment them.
Do you see that these two situations I've just described are rigged in favour of everyone? Good things: favours and compliments are being given due to a reason, but that reason is being disregarded when it would result in something harmful/bad (disfavours and mockery of physical features).
The fact that this is the mainstream sentiment is such a huge win for humanity. With all the negativities out there that we keep learning about societies and human behaviour this is a beautiful thing to learn about. This is something that should remind us of how much the world can be rigged to benefit everyone with no consequences. Something to smile about at last, so I just thought I'll let you all know.
